Not too long ago, the big problem was smoking. People smoked and had heart attacks and were out of shape, and had poor health.
But many people stopped smoking.
The current problem -- and Michelle will tell you -- is obesity. People eat too much and have heart attacks and are out of shape, and have poor health.

Has anyone noticed that smokers are often thin and that non-smokers are often fat?
Maybe people just tend to have heart attacks? Maybe neither the smoking nor the obesity is quite as a big a deal as the Nanny State would like to believe.

Yep and smokers won’t quit (especially the female smokers) because they were afraid they would gain weight.

I wanted to start smoking so I could lose weight but hated the taste and mess. I just didn’t have the willpower.
