Texas middle school student Reginald Wells was knocked out with a punch to the face by a teacher last Friday after Wells cracked a joke about the teacher's favorite football team.
Wells, who attends Willie Ray Smith Middle School in Beaumont, says he stopped to talk to an assistant teacher from his math class and joked about the teacher's favorite football team, pushing the teacher's shoulder after he said the joke. According to another teacher who was in the hallway, the assistant teacher reacted by punching 12-year-old Wells in the face, knocking him out.
From 12News:
"(The principal) said Reginald was punched, in the shoulder, and then hit two times and uppercut, and then slid across the floor," Adrianne [Wells, Reginald's mother,] said. "It weighed heavy on my heart, because I've never put my hands on my son."Wells, who is four-foot-eleven and 80 lbs., woke up on the floor seconds later with no recollection of what had happened.
The assistant teacher was fired and escorted from the premises, but not arrested. Before being removed, the assistant teacher told Reginald, "I can't apologize for what I did, I was just having a bad day and I just snapped."
Adrianne Wells says she plans to file charges against the teacher.
I was wondering when Sister Mike Tyson would make an appearance. Scary but man did they keep you straight.
I remember to this day First Communion class. You could not chew the host back then. About 50 years ago. One kid chewed and the nun almost slapped his head off. He did it again, same result. This went on about four times. We figured the kid was really hungry. We were using “practice unconsecrated hosts”.
An 80 pound kid bit my wife’s face at a middle school when she taught there one day.
I say keep the teacher and put all the sh!theads in that class and you would actually get some work done.
Nowadays these kids know the teacher’s hands are tied. If I’m the principal, I’d find a way to get him back.
I’d also take a hammer to kid’s cell phones if they went of in class, and I’d cut earbuds with scissors.
The foundation of learning is respect, and its missing from the public school classroom.
Yup, this lady (?) had a left that was lightning. She said I walked up to the alter like i was going to a Mets game. I told her I was a yank fan.
When I woke up........
