General Motors is recalling nearly 60,000 Chevy Malibu midsize cars to fix window defrosters that may not work and power seat wiring that can catch fire.
GM dealers will reprogram the computer at no cost to customers. The company says it doesnt know of any crashes or injuries from the problem.

my 1965 Chevelle Malibu never had any of those fancy things. It’s rings went out at about 100K though.

283 or 287 cu.in. V-8 with 4 on the floor. I traded it in back in 1972, thus I’m a bit fuzzy on the exact cu.in. of the engine.
IIRC, the Chevy small-block V8 from back then was indeed 283 CID; next size up was 327. The competing Ford engine was the 289.
