NBC has put a remake of that classic '80s TV staple "Murder, She Wrote" into development, but it turns out the show's original star, Angela Lansbury, isn't too pleased with the idea.
Lansbury, who starred as murder-solving mystery writer Jessica Fletcher for 12 seasons and four TV movies on CBS, recently told the Associated Press she's a fan of actress Octavia Spencer, who's set to star in the remake; she just wishes they wouldn't use the name.
Lansbury told the AP: "I think it's a mistake to call it 'Murder, She Wrote,' because 'Murder, She Wrote' will always be about a Cabot Cove and this wonderful little group of people who told those lovely stories and enjoyed a piece of that place, and also enjoyed Jessica Fletcher, who is a rare and very individual kind of person."

Hollywood has run out of ideas or it is too lazy to think of new ones.
This remake will be yet another Hollywood product I won’t be watching.
Guess she should have bought all the rights to the name.
I always suspected that Lansbury the real killer, and pretended to be a detective in order to frame others for her crimes.
Let’s face it — wherever she went people would mysteriously die.
The only idea Hollywood has is to dredge up old series and movies and remake them with black leads.
I want to see them remake the Andy Griffith show with all black characters... I dare them!
I thought they were still making old Murder, She Wrote stories. They keep doing TV movies in the 2000s and Angela Lansbury is pushing 90 but still acting.
Same here.
I wonder how she felt about the “Manchurian Candidate” remake?
I'd like to see an updated "Amos and Andy" series.
Networks don’t give original ideas a lot time to catch on, and kill great shows like Dollhouse and Firefly. I am entertained by Sleepy Hollow. The Vampire Diaries and The Originals I find to be entertaining, they are based on a 25 year old trilogy for young adult readers. Reign is sooooo bad that I kinda hate~watch it. Once Upon a Time is pretty fun, Lana Parilla kills it as the Evil Queen. There is some good stuff out there, but not enough.
Wild Wild West...with Will Smith as James West. /vomit
The lady is correct on this issue
Give me Bobby Goren.
It’s called “Al and Jesse.”
Not nearly as funny as the original!
thanks for that laugh you gave us
