Hatch (R-UT) blames two Pub senators for Cuccinelli Loss
Fox News | November 7, 2013 | Orrin Hatch - Fox News Interview

Posted on 11/07/2013 6:02:41 AM PST by CedarDave

At 8:45 a.m. EST, Hatch was being interviewed on Fox & Friends and was asked about the loss of Cuccinelli to Clinton clone McAuliffe. His response was "Cuccinelli would have won if two Senators had not shut down the government."

Outrageous!

It is unclear whether one of the two he was referring to was his fellow Republican senator from Utah, Mike Lee. The other, of course, was Ted Cruz of Texas.

Hatch was Teddy Kennedy’s cocktail party buddy.

Don’t think it has to be much of a limb. He barely lost, by 56000 votes, with over 700000 Romney voters who didn’t even show up. A little support from the GOP would have been enough to motivate even 10% of those who didn’t show and the result would have been different.

The e-GOP prefer the status quo. They don't have to work as hard what with writing big legislative bills. They can play being the opposition party when cameras/mics are close by. They fairly good press from the Media. They get a turn at the money troughs. And they get to have drinks after a hard day of legislating with their friends from across the aisle.

Who would want to give all that up?

The situation can best be illustrated this way:

No party that insults the largest portion of the American voters and the core voters in the party has much chance of anything but failure in upcoming state and national elections. The R party elite better hope their funding sources can contribute 5 to 10 times what the Dems have to throw at their candidates ‘cause its going to take that, and an enormous amount of hand-shaking personal contact, to get the votes to be elected once conservatives have been purged from the R party.

Of course, maybe all those illegals will suddenly rise up and shout, “Viva! Republicans!” /sarc The strategists at the R party are worse strategists than GB McClellan (a Dem) whose strategy seemed to be “waste resources in defeat—rest—waste resources in defeat—rest—look for a place to rest—rest—be surprised and defeated—rest—think—rest”. The R party strategy seems to be “lose the big one—attack remaining R voters—lose another big one—attack remaining voters—envy opponents and lie to base—lose another big one—attack fellow party members—fawn over party members who work for the opposition—lose a key state election—ignore gift opportunities—attack base voters.” Impressive leadership you got there. Honestly, is this a strategy that has any chance of generating the needed funds, winning elections, and giving hope to the HUNDREDS of millions of regular American voters whose ancestors provided the opportunities for prosperity these Americans enjoy and want to give to their children?

When you lose the big elections, you revise strategy and replace losing strategists. The R party has taken the easy elections and the gift opportunities and mismanaged them into losses. They use the opposition party’s communication network, undermine their most promising candidates, and insult regular Americans who vote and whose votes they need. You couldn’t design a much more ineffective strategy.

Perhaps the R party approach is believed to work for the personal enrichment and power of a few. Perhaps they don’t realize how bad they look—a combination of Scrooge and Mr. Potter. They do not appeal to Dem or Indep voters.

Lack of leadership+Idiotic strategy=failure.

the e-GOP would rather lose membership in the house and senate than have a conservative elected

Unfortunatly, the only way to destroy the GOPe control over the Republican party is for exactly that to happen.

I believe what the notorious RINO from Utah is saying is that Sens. Cruz and Lee made him and the rest of the plaid pants establishment republicans help the democrats win in Virginia.

That would be a bit like McCain saying that the US made him collaborate with the NVA in Hanoi.

Oh. Wait a minute...

Only one office has the authority to close down any portion of the Federal Government = CZAR GOSNELL B.O. and he is not a U.S. Senator!

it was not two Senators, nor 200, for that matter that partially shut down the Government. It was the people’s choice and the occupier of the white House. Every aspect and function of the Government obama wished to function, functioned. Why people who call themselves Conservative [not Hatch] allow these lies to go unchallenged is beyond me.

His response was "Cuccinelli would have won if two Senators had not shut down the government."

Of course, Senator Hatch then immediately named Harry Reid and Dick Durbin.

Oh, wait ...

Orrin Hatch is a little puke who is no match for neither Cruz’ or Lee’s integrity or intellect.
