OK, if you play along nicely, I'll tabulate the results later. So let's assume for the sake of argument that the next electable Republican president will come from the ranks of governors or from a handful of Senators or from an ex-office-holders like Jim DeMint or Mitch Daniels or Jeb Bush or Rick Santorum. PICK YOUR TOP FIVE (electability has to be your first consideration):
Republican Governors here:

Was Lincoln (he won in a 4 way race), and was Reagan electable? Was Andrew Jackson, who was cheated out of his first win? Was the revolutionary war winnable? It sure didn’t look like it for many years.
1. Palin
2. Cruz
As I mentioned on the previous thread (which seems to have been pulled), those are the only two I’m really interested in. The only two I really see that would truly combat the slimey, corrupt corporatism of the beltway ruling-class.
But, considering the direction the GOP has been taking, I’m all but certain they will push someone entirely unpalatable (quietly pro-amnesty, comfortable with the big-government behemoth and the whole corrupt system, and completely meek and cowardly on any social issues). And, in return, the GOP will most definately NOT get my vote in 2016. I’ve already broken that decades-long cord.
Nikki Hailey
Paul Ryan
Butch Otter
**** MIKE PENCE *****
Susana Martinez
Richard Burr
“Governor Mike Pence of Indiana shouldnt be ignored, either. Its his views on amnesty for illegal immigrants that are his biggest weakness, IMHO.”
Pence wouldn’t just wipe the floor with Hillary, he could easily take on the enemy media machine, as well.
Cruz
Palin
Paul
Walker
Daniels
How about Lee!!
The next Republican president probably hasn’t been born yet.
After his last performance, there is certainly reason to doubt. But I'm inclined too write it off against the medication he was on for back surgery. He certainly wasn't being himself.
And himself has been a remarkably good governor. He's made a number of enemies on this board but, after 15 yrs of being a governor, you're bound to have made some enemies. Over his tenure, Texas has been one of the best governed states in the union -- and I don't think anybody can dispute that.
Solid on the economic issues. Solid on the social issues.
Jindal wants open slather as soon as someone declares the border secure.

Not to worry. Jindal is not eligible. Both paremts were citizens of India when he was born. .....He would make a good Cabinet Secretary, however, as he has previous history in DC prior to being Gov.
With electability being my first consideration , I don’t want to pick anyone.
That’s what got us losses and bad wins.
Dole, Romney, McCain ,all said to be electable. All losers.
Any candidate is electable if we don’t have half the party stabbing them in the back.
That said I have but two candidates I will vote for and electability does not come into play . Honesty, Integrity, Patriotism, That is what should come into play.
Palin or Cruz.
Thune’s a RINO, JIndal is prolly unelectable.
The only two real meal deal guys for 2016 are Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. Otherwise you are going to end up with Crispy, Jeb, Ryan etc .
5. Sarah Palin.
