Sorry, I was making out with Cindy Lou at the BiJou most of the time and everything is a bit hazy except for the reoccurring image of the number 36D…………..

I'm pretty sure is was a commercial for Iron Butterfly's new album called In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. I could be wrong tho 'cause I was taking a lot of LSD at the time and most things looked like atomic bombs going off........

Great album I might add.......

Spicy meatballs?

No. That was alka seltzer.

As a side note, show your son the Iron Butterfly YouTube video of the performance.......(but don't give him any LSD or it will stunt his growth)

I heard about it years later, when I was old enough to pay attention to matters of the White House. That’s an ad I can see Senator Grayson of Florida running now, way over the top scary. We were much more suggestible back then, so ready to leave it to “Our President”. Some remain stuck in that spider web of Personality Cults today, happily drinking their Government made Kool-Aide.

Hmmm, late 60s ... the main PSAs I remember

is the Italian guy dressed as an Indian crying in front of some litter.

“Don’t Cross the Street in the Middle in the Middle in the Middle in the Middle in the Middle of the Block” (It’s better than it sounds, even if the singer was obtained by cronyism.

One about eye safety juxtaposed against optical illusions with the catch phrase “It’s fun to play with your vision, put don’t ever play with your eyes.”

A bunch of depressing ads for C.A.R.E.

And finally one with kindergarten level drawing stick figures that said something about the Promised Land.

The commercial mesmerized me at my age, and I was more interested in watching the explosion than in listening to the man's voice.

Can't help with the commercial but if you still like that kind of stuff (as do I) rent a copy of "Trinity and Beyond". It's all about the nuclear arms development in the US. Lots of good old videos.

I don’t remember that ad, but while it’s not what you’re looking for, this is a fun one (!) from the very early years of the Atomic Age. It’s designed to teach elementary school kids how to “do a good job” as part of the atomic team:

It ran ONCE on television during the 1964 Johnson vs Goldwater election. It ends with a little girl holding a daisy fading (burning actually) into the mushroom shaped explosion of a bomb.

The spin is that it played over and over. It did not. It has since been played frequently

One of the most infamous and well-known election ads every run.
