Tom Hanks is a talented actor (that's someone who can memorize at least one paragraph of dialog written by another).
Unfortunately, he is also another Hollywood Obama worshiper, albeit a relatively quiet one, who, along with Spielberg and several others, grasp the financial rewards for positive portrayals of the United States military. Projects such as "Saving Private Ryan", "Band of Brothers" and now this new one.
How sadly hypocritical that these Hollywood types continue to support politicians out here in the real world like the Clintons, Obama, most of the radical left crew from the Left Coast (Algore, Pelosi, Waxman, Boxer, Feinstein, George Miller, etc.) who, at their cores, disdain those same military men and women upon whose backs and lives these creatures profit.
It's just me but I've decided to consciously AVOID the films and other projects put forth by these folks.
Sounds very interesting.
I will watch for it.
It’s not due till December 2014.
Have you read the book?
I read some reviews of some of the men that were there and they say he did not offer himself up like a hero type. They totally screwed that up apparently.
I have not.
It’s movie.
I still like the premise.
The high seas,
pirates,
US SEAL snipers,
physiological drama.
Power struggles.
Check it out at your library....one of the best books I’ve read.....and it’s true....and you literally can’t put it down!-—The narrative just flows.....amazing story!
I’ll wait for the movie ;)
I’ve seen both “Captain Phillips” and “Gravity”.
The former was much better than the latter.
“Gravity” reminded me of one of those movies they would show at Johnson Space Center.
Didn’t the original crew say the film was a big fat lie and Phillips was the worst.
When it is between Hollywood and a lawyer with a multi-million dollar lawsuit, how can anyone tell what the truth is?
"Nine seamen who were aboard the Maersk Alabama during the April 2009 crisis filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the shipping company that owns the ship charging that it's Capt. Richard Phillips' own fault for placing them all in jeopardy. Two other crew members on the original suit have since settled separately with Line Limited, a lawyer affiliated with the case told the Daily News.
The suit is playing out as the "Captain Phillips" movie starring Tom Hanks opens Friday.
"They don't think this boat should ever have been where it was," said attorney Brian Beckcom, who is representing the nine remaining plaintiffs. "They thought the shipping company knew it, and by extension, Captain Phillips, knew it."
'Captain Phillips' crew members claim mariner to blame for pirate ordeal in lawsuit
I just cannot enjoy any movie with him now. Big was in tv....one of my all tinpme favs. Couldn’t stomachs hanks visage
ping
Phillips was hundreds of miles away from Somalia.
I smell sour grapes.
The crew members on the ship have come out and said the movie is pure BS...that the captains portrayal was totally inaccurate.
***************************
I read that several days ago. The crew members implied the captain was probably bribed, because he took the ship 300 miles off of its planned course to the point where the pirates took the ship.
awww....you’re missing a great reading adventure!
Here is another HUGH reason not to support this douche bag name Tom Hanks:

Tommy wants Obama to run another 3 term. Again since his people are so dam stupid the Usurper won’t hesitate to do that.
I really don’t read that much anymore, but a good book on a winter night, beside the fire, is hard to resist.
