A lesbian couple claiming £22,000 a year in benefits want a new house from the council for their four children, saying they are too stressed to work.
Civil partners Lisa and Carrie-Ann Beaney say homophobic bullying from neighbours has left them unable to hold down a job.
Carrie-Ann, 23, has never worked and Lisa, 30, quit her McDonalds job after three months because it made her too anxious.
It meant when the governments benefit cap was introduced their housing payments were slashed and the pair were evicted from their rented home.
Since then they have been living in a single B&B room at a cost of £608 a week to the taxpayer. On top of their £21,900-a-year income from child and income support, that totals an equivalent cost to taxpayers of £53,000 a year.
The couple argue they would be able to work if they werent bullied about their sexuality - and afford a house themselves.
Lisa said: 'It does feel like we were persecuted against because of our sexuality and I think the council needs to show us some sympathy.

Lesbian couple claiming £22,000 a year in benefits demand new house for them and four children because their neighbours' homophobic bullying means they can't work
“Bullying”
The new touchstone of professional victimhood.
GB is a time machine taking us into the Future for a glimpse of our impending distopia.
Four children? They need to be using better birth control.
How can we game the dole so we don’t have to do anything but hang out with our dysfunctional children and practice our “cabinetry”?
wow.
can’t work? Why work when you are getting... what is that in dollars??
People who are attached to the tax payers like ramora need to be bullied a bit
As my late grandfather used to say;”You never know what’s under someone’s fingernails”.......
Bunch of head cases.
Just a couple of lazy deadbeats claiming victimhood to justify not working.
22,000 pounds is $$35,607 US
gee wiz
bump
Yep. And nearly every 'anti-bullying' campaign being run in public schools is focused squarely on homosexual advocacy.
The stress is that they’re not capable of integrating into a normal society. They see everything as bullying, when it is no more than a normal person’s inability to relate to strange people.
Oh, and Lesbian lifestyles work better with a Heterosexual mans money.
As lesbians, charging them with kidnapping is a better solution.
The kids are a lifestyle accessory. It affords them a bigger annual benefit check.
Wouldn’t that be lesbophobic?
Or that doesn’t pass the smell test?
And we thought we had it bad.
That's somewhere in vicinity of $75000.
