Ya gotta read the entire story!

I'll excerpt comments -- and add a few comments later in the thread...

I don't want to "out of place" comments yet on this God-glorifying testimony!

“Despite the rejection I faced from 30 years of friends, despite the fact that I lost status, position, money, might lose children and our home, I walked away and never feared again.”

Say what you will, the Mormons are great people!! </sarc>

Seriously, this is what is promised to us in Scripture.

I am always cheered and grateful when people come from under darkness. May their new found Christian faith be blessed

The Brigham Young professor then set out to buy herself a cross necklace to show her love for Christ, but there was one problem—crosses were taboo at the university. “Mormons don’t revere the cross. They see it as an instrument of death, not the place where Christ became the savior,” she stated. “[I]f I was caught, I would be called in by my superiors and lose the ecclesiastical clearance I needed to work there.”

I wonder how Mormons would reconcile this with Philippians 3:17-19?

17 Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. 18 For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.

Seems the Mormons are throwing in with some pretty bad company.

Years ago, as a very new Christian, I was confronted by a Mormon friend over a cross that I wore under my t-shirt. He was quite offended by it when he saw in the locker room of the gym. As I reflect on this incident years later and compare with the teaching of Paul, it is clear that my friend thought he was giving me spiritual enlightment when in fact, he was showing his own spiritual darkness.

In the time that followed, Lynn Wilder began searching the Scriptures for answers. She states that the word of God opened her eyes to the truth.

“I read my Bible, sometimes hours a day, and truly felt I was being washed,” Wilder explained. “In its pages, I met a Jesus who was able to save me from my life of working to be ‘good.’”

Wow!

Maybe the Democrats are right about bigotry on the Right, judging by these postings.

Maybe we can burn these Mormon heretics.
Then we can go after the Papists.
Then them Jews.

Maybe we could wear some kind of uniforms to show our Christian purity, like white sheets.
And have some symbols, like burning crosses to show our burning desire for the true cross of Jesus.

Christianity:
The belief that some cosmic wizard cast a spell and created everything in six days. He will make you live forever if you telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master and he will remove an evil force from our soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

Makes perfect sense to me.

This is very exciting to me.

My grandchild’s birth mother joined the Mormon Church several years ago. While it did help her to become a better mother to her 4 children, as well as a better housekeeper and wife to her husband, my grandchild is a born again, baptized in the Holy Ghost Christian.

We’ve spent a lot of time discussing how to witness to the birth mother. We know she sees how her oldest child has a relationship with God that she does not have.

This book may be the answer I’ve prayed for.

Thank you.

Well, if there is only one Jesus and one Christian church founded by him, then any other denominations not one with that original church of Jesus’ own creation must be a false church, no?

So is what all of you Mormon haters are saying is that that original church, which I believe is that papist Catholic Church, the only one around in 33 AD, the only true church with the only real Jesus?

Are all those other “Christian” churches false heretics or pagans because they do not follow the original Jesus? Shouldn’t we all start following that pope in his silly white dress?

How does a Mormon then differ from a Baptist or Episcopalian or Methodist? They all tossed aside the original Jesus.

So, uhh.... where are all those CINOs who claimed you were posting this mormon stuff because you were anti-Romney?

From my home page...

I would like to see a VOLUNTARY idealogy litmus matrix here on Free Republic, but when I proposed it to Jimrob, he called me a newbie.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2145065/posts?page=130#130
To: babygene I don’t think he’s all that interested.
To: MHGinTN It doesn’t matter what a FReeper thinks. It’s just a list that they tell us what they think. That way we can tell who we’re dealing with.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2145065/posts?page=130#130
To: Jim Robinson Hah hah, that’s great. I signed up 2 months after you and I’m a newbie. Back then no one even said, “Welcome to FR”. But yeah, I do think that there are tons of RINOs. To be more accurate, the term would be CINOs.
I’ve been pushing for an idealogical litmus matrix here on FR, not to get rid of RINOs but to expose them.
THE GOP DOESN’T WANT US- SO WHAT’S NEXT?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1965735/posts?page=762#762
***It simply takes too long. Look at this thread alone. I see evidence of RINOism in some of the FReepers on this thread. It takes 700 posts to drill down. We need the matrix posted and available so that we don’t have to drill down on every FReeping thread. They’re wasting our time. Deliberately.

Agreed to a large degree. Perhaps a way to rate members by other members???

So the consensus here is that Mormons are Christians.

I’m glad that’s settled.
