A high school football coach in Texas was slapped with a formal bullying complaint after his team won 91-0 on Friday.
Aledo High School, the football team that put up a score youd expect to see in a basketball game, has scored 77 points or more in their last four games. This is the first complaint that has been filed against head coach Tim Buchanan for his teams blowout victories.
The dad of a player on the team that was blown out, Western Hills High School, claims Buchanan encouraged his players to bully their opponents by running up the score.
Buchanan is adamant that no bullying occurred in his teams win. Not only did he pull his starters in the first quarter, his third string players were on the field when the clock ran out. After the first half was over, the officials began running a clock that didnt stop unless a timeout or score occurred and in the fourth quarter, the officials used a continuous running clock, so the score could have reached triple digits.
Neither Buchanan or his team were happy over the victory. We were just sitting there, Buchanan said. Youd have thought we got beat. I looked around and asked, Is there anyone here that feels good? Buchanan says that while such victories arent anything he takes pleasure in, he cant tell his kids to quit, either.
Im not gonna tell a kid that comes out here and practices six to seven hours a week trying to get ready for football games, Hey, you cant score a touchdown if you get in, youre gonna have to take a knee, Buchanan said. That may be the only touchdown that kid gets to score in his high school career.

What a joke.
The more dominant team beat up on the challenged team...and it's the more powerful's team fault for being too good...
If you can't play the game, then don't take the field...
I suppose he should have taken out his third string players and sent the cheerleaders out to play.....
I don’t know if Texas has class football, but it seems to me that Aledo HS needs to play up a class or two.
As long as they aren’t shooting steroids, and paying players with cash, cars and girls, then what’s the problem? And if they are, then the boys are ready for playing in the SEC.
Either way it reflects pretty poorly on the other coach - seems like his team just rolled over.
Heard a story about this on the radio this morning. The coach took out his starters halfway through the first quarter. And he asked the refs to keep the clock running no matter what. He could have scored a lot more.
Winning is losing. Losing is winning.
A lawsuit for this...what a wussified society we have become. Have been on BOTH sides of butt whipping but I didn’t complain about it!
when i was in boy scouts, my patrol won every competition the troop had, and won a blue ribbon in the regional camporee. the leaders broke us up. our troop would win no more regional blue ribbons, and we all were quite miffed. and the crybabies still cried.

The fact that is was a “dad” making this ridiculous “bullying” complaint, is a hundred times worse than if it were a mom (still stupid, but more understandable given maternal instincts and the gender gap).
As I see it, the poor football player has “two moms” and no real dad. Having such a simpering wuss for a “father” must be a million times more humiliating than losing 91-0.
If that's the case...then there is nothing to criticize here. Every blow out is different, and I know a lot of people like to jump in 100% on one side or the other....which rarely reflects reality. But if his subs were in the game for the most part, this result is what it is. There's no need to humiliate a team you are superior too, but it's not proper to ask subs not to play hard either.
No. If you don’t want a team to beat you 91-0, then don’t suck.
Apparently. Metrosexual football for all!!!
Honestly, it is probably classy if they’d pull back a bit....but that should be their choice to do it or not. Life is tough and you have to work and fight to make it. Getting your a$$ handed to you is almost always an extremely valuable lesson for later on.
Losing in a mismatched football game is motivation to work harder you improve your game. It is an opportunity to learn a lesson that will serve the players on the losing team for the rest of their lives.
Be prepared or be embarrassed.
Haha. I like that.
“If you don’t like your lot in life: Don’t suck”.
Excellent.
Words to live by.
“It is an opportunity to learn a lesson that will serve the players on the losing team for the rest of their lives.”
Kinda hard to learn when the wussified adults are in the way.
A good lesson for the losers. To get up and try again.
