An artist has sent an unusual, but very clear message to the Czech Republic president ahead of parliamentary elections.
Sculptor David Cerny created a giant purple hand -- extending an oversized middle finger -- and placed it on a pontoon boat on Pragues main Vltava river Monday. The giant gesture floated near the famous Charles Bridge, visible from Prague Castle, where Czech President Milos Zeman would have a perfect view.
Cerny -- who is locally known for his anti-communist stance -- designed the stunt before this weeks parliamentary elections, which could give the communists a taste of power almost a quarter-century after they were ousted.

How could a people who had to live under communism ever vote to let it back into their government? Just amazing...
The same way as everywhere else ... FREE STUFF!!!!!
Ping.
And here it is...I hope this doesn't offend any goody two shoe's here.
He’s saying “We’re Number One!”
Are we talking Klement Gottwald Communists or Aleksander Dubcek Communists?
Because the two main parties here are so grotesquely corrupt it’s not even funny.
The communists have the advantage of having been in the wilderness since 1989, thus, the taint of being a corrupt political party doesn’t really get hung around the neck.
Klement Gottwald Communists.
The commies here are the last unreconstructed Communists in Europe. They’re the real deal.
This is one of those “In Soviet Russia” jokes, isn’t it?
You need to ask someone who lives there. I just posted it because I'm trying to figure where to anchor it on the Potomac after Prague is through with it.
*rimshot*
In communist Czechoslovakia government fingered you. Now in free Czech Republic ...
The reason for it is because President Zeman is seen by a good many Czechs here as quietly supporting the return of the Communists into power.
The Social Democrats here long ago ruled out any kind of coalition with the Communists with something called the ‘Bohumin Agreement’. However, now things have changed - the Communist Party is the actual elected government in several municipalities in the Czech Republic, and the Social Democrats have formed coalition governments with the Communists in many other cities and regions as well.
The ‘Bohumin Agreement’ referred to national-level politics; however, the current head of the Social Democrats, has said he’s willing to form a minority government with the tacit support of the Communist Party: President Zeman supports this as well.
The concern here for many Czechs is that if the Communists do well - i.e., better than expected - in the October 25/26 elections, they may well be in a position to demand an outright coalition government. And that has many Czechs very, very nervous.
Hence, the giant middle finger to President Zeman, courtesy of Czech artist David Cerny.
That’s it!
Is that the Flying Fickle Finger of Fate award?
Pinkos do this kind of thing and the so-called “news” media plays it off as a prank.
Americans try it and the so-called “news” media calls the “terrorists.”
