COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Nick Marshall accounted for four scores and No. 24 Auburn battered Johnny Manziel in a 45-41 win over No. 7 Texas A&M on Saturday.
Tre Mason's 5-yard score with less than 2 minutes to play was first placed at the 1, but it was reviewed and ruled a touchdown.
A&M (5-2, 2-2 SEC) had a last chance, but Manziel, the Heisman Trophy winner, was sacked by Dee Ford on fourth down to secure the win.
Manziel threw for 454 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a fifth score, but was intercepted twice. He missed a series in the fourth quarter with an apparent injury to his right arm or shoulder. He returned but was constantly moving his right arm.
Marshall threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 100 yards and two more scores for Auburn (6-1, 3-1), which lost 63-21 to the Aggies last season.
Texas A&M's Mike Evans had a school-record 287 yards receiving with four touchdowns to become the first player in school history to have two, 200-yard receiving games in a career. He scored on receptions of 26, 64, 42 and 33 yards.
Auburn entered the game leading the SEC with 287 yards rushing a game and piled up 379 yards rushing against the Aggies. Mason led the way with 178 yards and Corey Grant added 45.
Manziel connected with Evans for his fourth TD on a 33-yard pass -- that Auburn was called for pass interference on -- giving A&M a 31-24 lead late in the third quarter.
Manziel was injured when he was tackled on an 8-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

You dodged a bullet there didn't you!
Ping to the list! Sorry for being late. I went back to bed!
I just plain like seeing Texas lose.”
Why?
I don’t understand why they don’t take the whole band. Back in ‘72-76, we went to EVERY game. Fun times. War AUMB Eagle!
see Oregon yet.......all in pink helmets
what’s next tampons for hand towels ?
Too expensive I guess. So far the only away game the full band has gone too was LSU and they spent night in New Orleans and drove into Baton Rouge next morning. Enough to make Momma worry with her baby in New Orleans, thank goodness they go out to eat in very large groups but still didn’t like it. Last year was Memphis overnight then to Ole Miss.
Band is stuck on buses, I think team and cheerleaders get to fly, but pep band flew to College Station this weekend.
When you’re as good as Johnny Football you can be cocky. Love him or hate him, he’s one of the best. Even Saban said “He made plays nobody else could make.”
We went down to Miami in early October 1974, I think. Two long days down, and one VERY long day back. Very memorable trip.
Many romances were started in band! 37+ years married now.
SO I guess Auburn is one of the best too
I imagine so. Her boyfriend plays in the Million Dollar Band ooops. So do several of her high school friends. But so do many of them play for AU too.
Which channel carrying oregon
From what little I saw, it looked like the defender grabbed jersey.
He is one slippery dude. He can spin, scramble, stay on his feet while being pursued by several and still toss it more than halfway down the field and the receiver catch it. Several plays like that during the AL/A&M game. He is fun to watch.
My Texas relatives were hitting me up for AU/A&M tickets this summer with daughter being student at AU and I was like nope, no can do!
Forgive me for jumping in, MamaB, BUT NOT REALLY AND YOU OBVIOUSLY DON’T UNDERSTAND.
She and her beau are retired.
The beau had his sons show up unexpectedly.
MamaB GAVE THEM A GIFT of her seat.
The Beau is a former AU football player.
The Beau and Sons now have a good memory that MAMAB GRACIOUSLY MADE POSSIBLE.
THAT has always been known. Win or lose, IT’S GREAT TO BE AN AUBURN TIGER!
easy I grew up in COlorado and my best friend is from Nebraska
