The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks & Outdoor Recreation is recruiting for a full time, year-round Park Ranger I position in the Northern Area of Alaska State Parks. This position deters crime, promotes public safety, and enforces resources protection laws and regulations through presence and actions as a peace officer.
Equally as important, the Park Ranger I coordinates and directs activities pertinent to park operations and the day-to-day provision of visitor services.
The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Training and supervising temporary employees and volunteers; * Interpreting educational material and providing educational services to park visitors and the local communities of the interior of Alaska; * Maintaining daily operations of the facilities and land units associated with Northern Area park facilities; * Assisting personnel in other areas in the district; * Conducting routine patrols throughout the Northern Area including park units outside of the Fairbanks area; * Ensuring that Park facilities are well maintained, safe, and clean; * Monitoring compliance of all applicable regulations by maintaining contact with park users, anglers, boaters, hunters and landowners in the area.

All employees in the Park Ranger job class must be qualified to obtain and maintain a DNR State Park Peace Officer Commission. To obtain a DNR State Park Peace Officer Commission the incumbent must successfully pass an Alaska Police Standards Council certified academy. If the incumbent has not already graduated from an Alaska Police Standards Council certified academy, DNR will send them to the 15-week Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Academy in Sitka, Alaska.

Of course, they need more Nazis for the next faux shutdown. The Firearm Certification is to shoot American citizens - preferably the old and the infirm.
This sounds like a state job in Alaska, not the federal National Parks “Service.”
Actually, for those who might qualify, it might be good for Conservatives to find a berth from within the belly of the beast....
But that may put one in an unlimited bag limit category; especially if they keep up the screw the vets and visitors attitude given the fact they are but stewards of public and private properties. I wonder what other preprinted posters they and their ilk have ready to make us feel the pain.
