“Zero tolerance” has consequences. Hope that Principal is proud of them self for taking something that should have been a suspension at most into a criminal case.
If I were his parents, I would do my best to take every penny that school has or will have for the next 100 years.
No, it was just a prank, and now the kid's dead. Feel better?
If there was any justice in the world, this same administrator would have to repeat all his words in front of the boy's casket.
Seems the bullies are the school administrators.
Get used to it comrades: everyone not a member of the gov employee apparat is a zek.
The whole sex offender registry is beginning to look a bit stupid. My own small town has 1700 “offenders” spread like peanut butter across the county. If you read the offences, he was 17 and she was 16 and it occurred in 1978. Thirty years go by and that’s still there. Probably we have all done something at some point that today would qualify us for this farce.
Once everybody is on the list, nobody is on the list. Time to evaluate who the predators are and cleanse the rest off the list.
This is the problem with ANYTHING government does. It becomes mindless and pointless. Somebody is charged with putting people on lists and that’s what he/she does 40 hours per week. Then, they retire, having added nothing to anybody’s safety.
Cutbacks in school funding have stretched counselors so thin that this is the result. We need more funding and more counselors.
Wow - this is the High School I attended...
A sex offender registry?
Yes, I can see how a 15 year old might think their entire life was ruined over a dumb prank.
Laws and legal system run amok. Our “society” was front and center responsible for helping to push this kid over the edge.
Yeah, he already had some issues. What teenager doesn’t? But to threaten him with a sex offender registry? I have no words. What kind of outcome did they THINK would happen when you take a prank and turn it into a lifetime stigma then let a 15 year old mind decide on the best course of action? They literally threatened to take his whole future away over a PRANK.
The principal and administrators behind this are murderers, period.
Zero tolerance is the abdication of teaching, and its replacement with a merciless and cruel penal system.
Their are few groups of people in the country as cold-bloodedly vicious as public school teacher and administrators. By and large, they are sadists. And many of them are insane.
This is what liberal society leads to zero tolerance (no grace) for childhood antics, yet baby killing and sexual immorality are OK!
PATHETIC AND SICK (I am really, really) sick of American culture in 2013 (the culture which the left has shaped)!
Somebody streaking or getting caught talking a whiz outside is not in the same category as a child molester. Not even close. Not even in the same general neighborhood.
Sounds like the kid had other issues.
Not all, you can’t generalize, my best buddy growing up; His mother is currently a p.s. teacher and is a Christian kind lady (she’s not in leadership mind you..). There are some good ones, but YEA I’ve seen the vindictive liberal evil kind as well..!
All the ‘free love’ 60s radicals have become worse prudes than characters in a Nathaniel Hawthorne novel.
What is and has always been a prank becomes a ‘sex offense’ in the Bizarro zero tolerance world, a world where people have titles but no responsibility or authority because that would require rational thought and judgment. Instead, they are overpaid button-pressers meting out punishment.
The greatest irony, of course, is that these same ‘educators’ are rabidly in favor of risible gay history curriculum and fully support sickos using the wrong bathroom under the rubric of gender identity disorders.
Yeah, he was overly sensitive. A lot of kids in that age group are. It isn’t a capital offense. At least, it shouldn’t be.
