These moronic hunters actually shot and killed a rare albino moose

My, don't they look proud. But after shooting this rare albino moose near Belle Cote in Nova Scotia last week — and posting the pics to social media — the trio has sparked considerable outrage, particularly among the region's Mi'kmaq indigenous community.

These guys breached a kind of unwritten code of conduct that has also upset many in the hunting community.

You baby. We can disagree for whatever reason but, I personally wouldn’t shoot something so rare.

Then again, I wasn’t there.

I like to kill pink squirming albino baby mice with a hammer.

Not sure why people have their panties in a wad due to the fact it is a albino.

Because they're racists....if it had been a black moose they would have said nothing....and brown moose are murdered every year.....not a word!!!!

Evolution in action. A deleterious genetic mutation causes the moose to stand out to a predator. Genetic mutation is culled. Just the way it’s supposed to work.

Yeah, you caught us.

We’re cold, heartless and don’t recognize a rare beauty.

Still, I wasn’t there.

Apparently these fearless "hunters" took it down from 300 yards with a semi-automatic. Really something to brag about, which they did. Mighty hunters, indeed. Mighty jerks.

If the moose had not been white it is unlikely they would have seen it in the first place. Seeing a white moose is rare enough. Seeing one during hunting season is more rare. Killing one from 300 yards is an additional feat. As far as "fearless" is concerned, no one is crediting courage as a factor. Luck and good shooting skills, yes. Courage, no.

Interesting, starting this off with a direct personal insult doesn’t normally bode well for the rest of the discussion.

Ok... Fine.

Don’t be stupid. It was a game animal during a regulated hunting season. If you weren’t being just a complete jackass, you could actually lobby your Representatives to have the hunting laws for your State changed rather than showing your ass on an open forum.

Now, run along and write that check to PETA and let the adults talk.

I am pretty sure those wolves are fully automatic or at the very least selective fire.

Don’t be silly. Film tastes awful.

They did the right thing and I applaud them.

OMG!

That’s MY Tribe!

LOL. My Tribe, I don’t think, has EVER been in the NEWS before.
Thanks for the Ping!

As Re: the Moose. I hate it when people act stupidly and make it worse for the rest of us. I am a responsible gun owner, and this reflects badly upon all of us.

Just like when they call the moronic rice-burner riding yutes who beat up motorists in NYC “BIKERS”.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hum...

Albino herd animals are normally shunned from the herd. This means they must forage on their own and are much more susceptible to predation and disease...

Being torn apart by wolves, or starving to death, is apparently more “humane” to some folks on this thread than a shot from a rifle the animal never heard.

Talking about some twisted mentality...

There’s a white squirrel that’s lived in my neighborhood for three years, which is a long time for a squirrel even without it being really obvious to predators. It would tick me off if someone decided to shoot it.

OTOH if the moose had a huge set of antlers, every hunter would understand why it was a trophy target.

You don’t have to rope it. Leave it in the wild and people will find it. Albino animals are tourist attractions, making it worth many hundreds of thousands in tourism dollars. Oops. Not anymore. Some morons killed it.

You really think thousands of people actually saw this animal in the wild......how many people do you think have ever seen any moose in in the wild. Other than hunters.....whose fees support the herd!!
