All those old players were men. Unlike the criminals who play the game now.
Whats sad is that Chuck Noll pretty much vanished from the scene.
Prestigious ambassadorships do not come cheap. If you want one you've got to pay for it.
Just speculation on my part, but...I think Noll left when he did because the game was changing. Instead of men, he was getting has beens, never wases, and primadonnas. The younger generation didn’t want to play because they enjoyed playing. They just wanted to make big bucks. And once they started making big money, they would slack off. They didn’t respond to Noll’s style of coaching. He also couldn’t count on support from the owner anymore. The owners invested big money in these layabouts. They weren’t about to cut them loose, at least not right away. So as coach, Noll would be saddled with a bunch of losers. Eventually, blame for sorry won-lost records would be placed on Noll, not the lousy players. If I were him, I would have left too. He left before his reputation was sullied.
Old Rooney held a little rally for Uhbama himself and gave him a 00 Steeler jersey, BEFORE he was president-elect. It was disgusting.
Good point. Noll had class.
When the steelers replaced him with the highly over rated Bill Cowher, I groaned.
The last season Cowher was coach he pretty much phoned it in.
Speaking of Frank Gifford did you hear about that new book written by long time Johnny Carson lawyer claim Johnny caught his second wife Joanne in bed with Gifford LOL!
What a pig Frankie was
Yeah I think Chuck would take down Frank if he caught his MRS with Frank LOL!
AH I picking Raiders over Chiefs in the game
Better not be his last wife Alex Carson LOL! she still around
If I hear correctly from American Master on Johnny Carson on PBS Johnny and her were separate at the time of his death
And to some extent, Cowher left with an ok reputation, possibly undeserved. Tomlin has had to live up to that impossible standard. Even more so, whether we wish it didn't exist, there was more than a bit of racism greeting Tomlin when he took over. Many “fans” thought surely, he would fail because he is an *N-word*. In my view, Tomlin has done rather well with the losing team he is saddled with.
Isnt Russell Wilson or Peyton Manning available?
Too lazy to look it up...when’s the last time Steelers started 0-5?
Been a long time
A lot of false glory with those old Steelers’ teams as well:

It’s truly sad but all professional sports are long tainted:

But you wouldn’t expect it to be a story even in recent years:
I’m taking Denver against the spread, 4 TD margin sounds about right to me.
