Thank gawd I will be on my employers plan for at least another year.
Only the people who can’t pay.
No one should.
Let them fine us all.
Then everyone should not pay.
Everyone’s.. AFRAID!
I tried to sign up, but they wouldn’t accept my pass word:

I am highly interested in what will happen over the next year with my HSA, and not so much with what I put in, but the cost of the catastrophic care package that must be purchased in parallel to the HSA.
Just reported today on the radio here in Milwaukee that not one person has signed up in the city yet.
Seriously, we only heard of one “success” story so far, and he was trumpeted loudly by the media...
until he turned out to be lying, and we didn’t hear anything after that.
If they had more success stories, we’d be hearing about it.
If they had a LOT of people signed up, the MSM would be running a tote board.
Nah.
I went to the Covered California website. I wanted to see how much the plans cost and what the deductibles were. I could not get any information regarding any prices or deductibles unless I gave my name, e-mail address, phone number, etc. first. I chose not to give them anything. If any business would not allow me to look at the merchandise unless I gave them all of my personal information upfront I would walk out of the store.
I know their stupid website hasn’t worked for over a week. I’ve been checking it out every now and then. It’s an absolute mess....as will be our entire health-care system soon.
I just spent about a half hour going through all the endless questions. Please wait came up after every question. After I filled in my name address and birthdate it asked me questions to check. It knew where I had worked, what kind of car I bought, if I had purchased pet insurance, and it knew that without a ss number. I got as far as the verification page and lo and behold...it crashed! I only wanted to shop and see what was available and was curious as to the questions on their app. I tried to log back in and I get a blank page. I am sorry I did this now.
Taking a non-sign up stance is very, very patriotic.
I’ve been to site dozens of times only to find that it’s still broken.
It depends on the meaning of “signed up”. After the online registration process, the prospective policy holder’s information gets passed to the individual insurance company which issues the policy. We know some of that information has gotten through because the companies are complaining of error rates in the data ranging from 50 to 97 percent. Whether any policies have actually been issued is a question I can’t answer.
I am going have a go at tracking the Obamacare Enrollment numbers. Right now the data is both rare and untrustworthy but I do have one entry that looks legit:
Maryland 326 from a 10/7/13 Hot Air article and elsewhere.
If anyone sees any data that looks OK I would appreciate it being posted. I follow the Obamacare topics pretty close and I will pick it up. If all goes well I will post summaries in a table format periodically.
VA, Affordable Care Act and You
What is the Affordable Care Act?
The Affordable Care Act, also known as the health care law, was created to expand access to coverage, control health care costs and improve health care quality and care coordination. The health care law does not change VA health benefits or Veterans out-of-pocket costs.
Three things you should know:
1 VA wants all Veterans to receive health care that improves their health and well-being.
2 If you are enrolled in VA health care, you dont need to take additional steps to meet the health care law coverage standards. The health care law does not change VA health benefits or Veterans out-of-pocket costs.
3 If you are not enrolled in VA health care, you can apply at any time.
Veterans Enrolled in VA Health Care
The good news is that Veterans enrolled in VA health care programs have health coverage that meets the new health care laws standard. You do not have to take any additional steps to have health coverage. Read more if enrolled
Veterans Not Enrolled in VA Health Care
Veterans not currently enrolled in VA health care program can apply for enrollment at any time. Read more about enrolling
Family Members
VA offers health care benefits for certain family members of Veterans through programs such as the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA) and the Spina Bifida program. Read more about VA family programs
Your family members who are not enrolled in a VA health care program should use the Marketplace to get coverage.
Additional Health Care Law Information
We understand you may have questions about the health care law and how it might affect you and your family.
