Worst case scenario is we wind up with egg on our faces. Would that be such a new experience?

Best case is, with the People actively showing their support it will provide Boehner with the needed shot in the arm to continue standing OUR ground.

Are we to be so spiteful towards this man, that when he actually does as we wish, that the snark continues?

I did see a bit of fight in those bloodshot eyes this morning.

Was refreshing to see.

(sorry....couldn't resist just a little snark)

I actually have been tweeting him my support all week. I have no problem supporting him when he does the right thing. Still think he needs to go though in the long run. I would like to see Trey Gowdy or another fighter take the reigns soon.

because Bohner is a coward who has let Obama nearly destroy this country already.

I want him out

And in the meantime I want him to fear us more than he fears Obama.

He has not proved he can be trusted. Too much of a waffler/attempted-deal-maker that always blows up in his face. He believes too much what the Dems say instead of what they do (lie to your face to get you to agree to something, and then stab you in the back).

Look at their latest attempt: they say they will be willing to negotiate with the Repubs once a "clean" funding bill (contaning, of course, Obamacare funding and a rise in the debt ceiling). If the Repubs were stupid enough to go along with that, what would be left to negotiate?

Far too many times, already, including his occupation of the seat as Speaker of the House, Mr. Boehner has shown that he had that age-old idea of ‘Divine Right’ buried in his mind.

It is my belife, that ‘we are stuck with him’. But, since he felt he was so much owed this job, I believe that it is OUR ‘divine right’, as Americans who want America back on track, to have our voice in his ear, and our foot, well, you know.

He tried to railroad The Tea Party candidates. Do NOT forget that! He IS a ‘GOP-E’.

AS America was founded, and as I understand the U.S. Constitution, there ain’t no how, no way, any such thing as a ‘divine right’, to any post, chair, House of Representative position of office, nor Senate, nor President, that is ‘owed to him/her’, this time or any time! Folks fought, bled, and died, to get rid of that ideology, in making this country.

Might want to complement him also on his willingness to “reach across the isle” and work with his good friend Harry Reid so they could get obama to carve out their EXEMPTION FROM OBAMACARE!

We need Ted Cruz in there who is not afraid of a fight.

You are absolutely right, KittenClaws. I have not yet done so, but I plan to repeatedly, for as long as he holds the line.

We don’t have to love the man, and we don’t have to trust him. However, he is the speaker of the house and has enormous power, and if he has decided to act in a way that saves our Republic he deserves our support.

Great idea Kitten! I have been calling since before the shutdown actually occurred, telling him to stand strong behind Ted Cruz and I hope others do.

I’ve also been calling the number the chicken s#$& Harry Reid left on his office’s voicemail. Unlike other congress critters his voicemail says we’re unable to take your calls or emails BUT if this is a FEDERAL EMERGENCY call this number and leave a message.

I called it while my husband stared daggers at me and said this IS a federal emergency whether you think it is or not....and went on from there, explaining exactly what my views are.

Now my husband is living in fear of a knock on the door *laughing*. He believes I shouldn’t have used the federal emergency line :-)

I sent Boehner a message using his web page just a few days ago and will re-send as needed. I told him I was no fan but if he could change and do what was I right, I could change my opinion of him was well. I put the ball in his court.

For those who just want to blow him away, you might consider what alternatives you propose, and not the pie in sky crap I see posted so often.

I saw the change yesterday in people once word started getting around about furloughed federal workers getting fully paid once the shutdown was over. It suddenly became a massive federal vacation, with federal workers getting paid not to work.

Not private contractors, but federal employees. If you supply goods or services to federal workers, or have concession on federal land, or otherwise are greatly affected, tough luck.

To the public, the war is over, and yet again, the federal government beast has won. We have public employees shutting down public sites, ordering people off of unmanned trails, closing parks that require more staff to close than it does to keep open.

With that piece of legislation, we've given up the fight, and the public knows it. The one piece of leverage we had, we gave away.

I'm not sure what there is left to support Boehner on.

Are we to be so spiteful towards this man, that when he actually does as we wish, that the snark continues?

Boehner is a wimp. He had to be dragged into this fight by the Tea Party conservatives in the House and the American people. If he was any sort of man, he would have been leading this fight right from the start instead of fighting from behind. He has been fighting against the interests of the Tea Party members of Congress since their ascendency in 2010. I still believe he is looking for a way to send a "clean" CR to the Senate as well as lift the debt ceiling to make Obama happy. Then, it is back to "business as usual."

Look at his actions with respect to getting an exemption from Obamacare for Congress and Congressional aides (as revealed by the leaked emails by Reid's chief of staff). This is absolutely disgraceful and at odds with the letter and spirit of the law.

And today, I thought his answers were weak. When Stephanopoulos brought up a "clean" CR, Boehner should have responded by asking where the constitutionally required budget (from the Senate) was? If we had a budget there would be no need for these endless CRs. Why hasn't Boehner ever harped about this in the past? Because old "go along to get along" Boehner had a tanning salon appointment to keep.

And when Stephanopoulos kept referring to Obamacare as being the "law of the land," why didn't Boehner bring up Obama's unconstitutional waivers or how other laws with respect to our borders , immigration and DOMA are repeatedly unenforced by Obama's DOJ.

Don't worry, Boehner will still find a way to snatch "defeat from the jaws of victory."

He got a sequester which finally slowed budget growth, he kept 99% of us from getting a tax hike, he will allow no cap and trade bill, he blocked gun control.

I would say he could use a little support.
