Gotta love the moron who makes the excuse that people might get lost and require rescue in what looks a bit like a small parking lot.

Who would get lost in a turnaround but a government employee.

I pass by there everyday. The turn around is simply a loop maybe 200 yards long on flat open ground. The Park Service has erected the same barriers at all parking lots, overlooks, and etc. for the entire length of the Mount Vernon Parkway. Most of the overlooks are no more than spaces where you can pull off onto an expanded shoulder to view the river. It is disgusting, and obviously done to annoy the public.

I live in northern Virginia and just drove on the Mount Vernon Parkway about an hour ago (that road was not closed, despite it being a National Park Service maintained property). This Obama is simply a major league creep.

If I lived there, I’d move the traffic control devices out of the way - civil disobedience to re-open the Gov’t.

“Help! The telephones aren’t working! I’ve tried to make a phone call from this telephone booth for an hour and it’s not working!”

“You’re in a revolving door.”

“Oh.....shouldn’t there be a warning sign or something?”

The Forbes.com article is hugely biased. But, having written several papers on Wal-Mart I can tell you this. Whatever the cost they can add it as a surcharge on every item (over 500,000 of them) so they can recover the additional amount every week. I have no idea what the cost impact is but when I wrote my last paper on them in 2007 they were outselling all other competing retailers and had 50% of the entire market. So, it may be just a few percent on every item. They can make this change overnight from their central office. (Wal-Mart shoppers averaged the lowest income of all the shopping competitors; $25,000. So, whatever it is it’s a tax on the poorest people in the nation.)

If you knew progressives like I know progressives, they indeed can get lost in a turn around.

Off and on people have posted articles here that speculate on whether the Mahdi is a homosexual. A curious thing about homosexuals is the spiteful, vicious effeminate rage they manifest when they’re crossed. Just look at how they attacked Prop. 8 supporters in CA. It goes well beyond the Bard’s famous line that, “He’ll hath no fury like a woman scorned.” looks like the Mahdi’s proving he’s the homosexual many of us have thought him to be with the pure effeminate spitefulness with which he’s striking at the American people over his shutdown.

Get lost in there? Like when Presidential candidate Al Gore got lost on a stroll in the woods and the bodyguards had to rescue him?

Let's see pictures of our ‘public servants’ arriving at ‘work’ in their limos - with drives tipping hats to these jerks.

Senators think they're royalty - chauffeurs picking up the chuffers - - dropping them off... I WANT PICTURES....

Who's paying for their golden carriages? My guess it's taxpayers or the House of Saud... Hello New York Times. Hello Washington Post.
