Finally, this morning I did a web search to see if I was the problem or if others were in agreement.

I would, but I am looking for an intelligent, market driven solution to a problem sent down from on high...from the Mt Olympus of "artistic design".
On a related note, on Saturday Mrs BN took me to the local aviation museum. Great exhibits, but some artsy-craftsy museum staffer decided to use "accent lights" rather that just turn on the hanger lights.
GRRRRRRR!
Descriptive signs were very difficult to read and most of the aircraft features were in the dark. When I mentioned it to several staff members, each just shook their heads and said, "We know".
