No injuries were reported Monday in the predawn armed robbery of several customers at a Buckhead Waffle House.
The robbery happened just after 6:30 a.m. at the 24-hour diner on Piedmont Road north of Pharr Road.
Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said three men from Philadelphia were robbed of nearly $40,000 in jewelry and iPhones.

Jones said the suspects took a $6,000 gold chain and medallion and a diamond-covered Rolex watch valued at $20,000 from Vincent Lamar “Cash Out” Robinson, a Rolex Submariner watch valued at $12,000 and a $500 iPhone from Raheem Jefferson and an iPhone 5 valued at $500 from Derrick Johnson.
The suspects then left the restaurant and fled on foot. Police have not released a detailed description of the robbers.

In NYC, as a youth, I went to the Silver Star. Eastside in the 60s. I never liked breakfast at that hour but you go where the crowd goes.

They probably felt safe, given that it was located in a majority white area. Note that the help is pretty much all white.
Waffle House in Buckhead....that’s like a White Castle in Beverly Hills.
I was once into it, too. But I always locked my Rolex and my $12,000 gold chain in the trunk before going in. Wasn't worried so much about their being stolen -- was worried I'd spill maple syrup on 'em.
They sat at a back table near the restrooms. No one else was robbed. Yeah, right. A little to convenient, huh.
I’ve never been to a Waffle House. Not that I don’t like waffles and all, but it just never happened. The one nearest us, on the U.S. Highway, is a crime scene fairly often.
