The spirit of the Lord visited me one night...

One evening several years ago, I was laying upon my bed almost ready for sleep after my quiet and silent prayer that I have been practicing for many years. Then, this presence came hovering over my body, filling it with warmth and a very real feeling of well being and love. It was not a dream and was the most wonderful sensation I have ever had. Far surpassing any drug induced feeling of happiness that I and many were prone to seek in our troubled childhoods. No, this was the rel deal and had a wordless telepathic message: I had made it home and am loved and accepted. Everything will be fine from here on out. It was a feeling of love. Love of a father for a long lost child. It was a feeling of a destination finally found and all that I ever dreamed and wanted, even though it was a distant idea...an idea of pure happy fulfillment that the world nor evil could ever ever disturb again. In a word, it was true salvation. And this video is a tribute to the man that brought it forth for all that are willing. Please enjoy. I did not produce this marvelous video, but it is my way of expressing my joy and wanting my experience for you too!

sure...I simply close my eyes a d see the little lights that are present within. I simply watch any thoughts that come to disturb simple stillness. Ot is that “be still and know that I am God” that I and many others practice and that opens the door for God. I can send you the actual site for more specifics of you like. here it is fhu.com..ot took. Another jew to point us back on track!

The woman at the well received “living water”. The old testament speaks of God causing “springs of living water to arise in our souls”. The Bible speaks of “times of refreshing”. 1 Peter 1:8-9 states:Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

God thru his son Jesus has promised to “Be with us always, even unto the end of the World!” These times of refreshing that come to Christians are part of that promise as a reminder (and a warning in part) that God is always looking over our shoulder...whether we are comfortable at times with that reality....or especially at times when aren’t!

Do you mean Chapter One Verse 4 of John? I am a simple man. This was not a inner feeling at all. It was a series of waves coming from one point and going thru my body. I did not tell anyone it happened for a couple of weeks while I thought about what else it could have been. I finally told my wife what had happened, she said I had to share it. I did. Then I went back to the abbot told him what had happened and asked him one question ‘Why me?’ He said ‘Why not you?’. So here I am a formerly hard working sinner waiting for a direction from the Boss. Now I’m still a sinner but I don’t work at it. Two things I received from God are God is there and I don’t fear death.

Nope...I know the workings of demons too and this was a wordless blessing. And most of the ministers of today totally miss the pathway. ..sadly.

Thank you very much, fabian.

As a friend said recently, it’s time to hunker down into survival mode and get close to God.

John 7:38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

It is true, that Christians here and there may get special ministrations and visitations as part of the ongoing process of the “working out of their salvations”, some get special spiritual surgery. God does call certain ones to special ministry...though we are all called to share the gospel to every creature where ever possible. Sometimes....certain folks just need a hug...and the Holy Spirit, if not directly by Christ himself, will give it to them! There are ministering angels that may very well attend to suffering Christians the same way they attended to Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane. Some Christians have sudden deliveries from alcohol and drug addictions. Many attest to healings from real documented diseases.

Sometimes God’s Joy comes but when we try to intellectually grasp at it, as though to possess it in prideful fashion it flits a way like a butterfly. When it comes back... let it just rest there and bask in God’s love. When going thru trials, remember those times of refreshing...they will come again. And someday... in glorified bodies, we shall be with HIM in Joy forever!

I’d be very suspicious of such visitations/manifestations. Satan can manifest himself as an angel of light. That’s why salvation is by faith, not by feelings or by any “visitations.”

Which is not to say that the Spirit cannot manifest Himself in such a way. Only that one should cling to Jesus as salvation, and not some experience that “everything will be fine from here on out.”

Nope...the book of first John....as in 1st, 2nd, 3rd John...then Jude, the Revelation...you know the far end of the New Testament!

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that[a] Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error!

Which is why we have 1 John Chapter 4 as the ultimate test of what these spirits may presume to be, teach, or pretend to impart loving joy!

In my personal experience, demons are readily willing to manifest themselves to those who seek a “spiritual experience.” God, not so much. Since I became a believer, I’ve never had a manifestation of any kind. And why would I? God values faith above all else. And we have John 20:29 for that.

I’m not saying this particular “manifestation” was false, or that God never manifests Himself in such a way. I’m just saying, one needs to be careful with such things.

and not some experience that “everything will be fine from here on out.”

One thing I experience is not always a constant Joy(as in mountain top experience) but even when things aren’t so “joyful” there is a kind of buoyancy I sense and other more wiser men of the faith talk about. In despairing, I don’t fall into total hopelessness, in wishing to be unkind, I’m not allowed to fully express it, in being hurt I find myself blunting the hurt I might have returned. I might express anger, but I’m not allowed to fall into sin or if I do I find myself very remorseful and wanting forgiveness. These are some of the unsung fruits of the Spirit, the gritty not so pretty things the Holy Spirit does in our hearts. We are enabled to stand in the day of trouble, and above all to stand!

Then there are the times of refreshing, the visitations, the joyful spiritual songs and wordless joys that arise like frothy artesian springs from our bellies as Christ stated in John 7:38.

There are the sudden illuminations when God finally imparts the meaning to you over a piece of scripture you might have puzzled over. These illuminations can be almost so mentally blinding that one drops the Bible in astonishment at what God has wrought in fashioning so great a salvation.

One such illumination came to me was of the reading of Abraham’s near sacrifice of his only son on Mount Moriah...when God acted at the last instant to stop the sacrifice, providing instead a Ram, entangled in a briar. Thinking of Christ, dying on the cross with a crown of THORNS on his head(the Ram caught in a briar THORN BUSH)...the connection between Christ’s sacrifice and the Mount Moriah incident some 2000 years before came to me like a bolt of lightning and I still stagger inwardly. God was already signaling to Abraham, just how he was going to bring salvation to men. Like Abraham offering up his only son who was supposed to further the line of his heirs the Hebrews, God was going to offer up his only “begotten Son” in blood substitution for our own sins. Indeed Abraham, I think, finally began to see it and believed it, rejoicing in it and such faith was credited to him as Christly righteousness.

Agree with you 100%, kevao, but figured if I posted same I’d be crucified....you see the flack I’ve been given over RCC not being the true body of Christ.

But when I read this, I had exactly the same thoughts.

Btw, I did not ping you on my latest post called The Eye of Faith. Have a read.....talk about a man of faith...making all his needs known only to God and letting God provide. Wonderful testimony and witness...his name was George Muller. Have you heard of him? Those Victorian believers really had faith!

The Lord has always spoken to me thru Scripture, and occasionally thru another believer...but the primary way is thru His word. The Charles Stanley sermons, of which I sent you the first, is the best series I have ever heard on how to listen to God.

God bless you,
Jodyel
