It was the Holy Spirit who directed Bill OReilly to write his latest book, Killing Jesus, he tells Norah ODonnell in his first interview about the upcoming work. Though the book is not religious and its contradictions of biblical descriptions may upset some, the Fox News anchor and best-selling author believes that in writing it, he is using Gods gifts in a positive way. The interview with OReilly will be broadcast on the 46th season premiere of 60 Minutes on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
All of the ideas come to me in the middle of the night and one night, I just woke up and I went, Killing Jesus, he tells O'Donnell. And I believe because Im a Catholic that comes from the Holy Spirit. My inspiration comes from that
so I wrote Killing Jesus because I think I was directed to write that.

Presumably the same. The Bible doesn’t go into all the details, but I’ve read accounts of how crucifixions were usually done. Of course, they might not always be done exactly right.
Jesus died sooner than the others. Toward the end, the soldiers broke the legs of the two thieves on each side of him, so they would be unable to stand and relieve their lungs and so would die more quickly, because of the need to get them down before the Sabbath eve, to avoid offending the Jews.
Since he died sooner, Jesus’ legs remained unbroken—in fulfillment of one of the Old Testament prophecies.
Yep
“Hes one of the main reasons I watch Penny on the Big Bang theory.”
O’Reilly is sick.
I wonder who directed him to phone stalk one of his female producers and talk dirty to her on the phone. :-)
And he’s writing stuff people have read about a billion times. “Killing Lincoln” “killing Kennedy” Gee...how original! Everybody was completely in the dark about how these two Presidents died until Bill O’Reilly enlightened us! Thank you Bill “Mr.Know-it-all” O’Reilly!
I take this with a grain of salt since it is CBS...but have noted several times that Mr. O’Reilly does not seem to know the teaching of the Church very well.
If he really believes that Jesus did not ask the Father to forgive those who were responsible for His crucifixion (all of us actually), and he believes that the Holy Spirit inspired this, he is deceived and needs to see his Confessor and learn something about discernment.
Pray for the guy.
The man’s own words can’t be fabricated by CBS.
Well, apparently, people still aren’t sick of reading about how those guys died, even if they’ve heard it already. Why try to be original when you can make an easy buck on a topic where others have done all the research for you?
Yeah, I’m sure, and the rest goes to the William O’Reilly Benevolence fund. I don’t remember any of the prophets or evangelists charging for their inspired works... much less trying to keep a slice of the profits.
Well, he’s a capitalist then. Or should hussein collect the difference? No one says you have to buy it. There are a lot of writers I wouldn’t read. But others do, and even want to. Should they be denied by your literary tastes?
lol! That’s true. That’s exactly what all this is about. MONEY. Hmmm...Where I can research the killing of Lincoln? Well how about I start with the 3 BILLION books already written about it? lol
Tom Hanks actually made a show based on that book if you can believe it, I think Bill produced it, and I watched it and what did I learn? Absolutely NOTHING new! Not one scintilla of new information in the entire show, so I don’t even have to guess that’s exactly how B.Os book went as well.
Yeah here it is, this one....

O’Reilly is unwatchable for me. I do hope what he says is true, that his faith was deepened a little, by writing this book in a secular fashion, because you are correct that he is hardly a student of his own faith, proving it on numerous occasions.
Sean Hannity isn’t well informed either. East Coast catechesis must be paper thin.
Who whispered in O’Reilly’s ear to have Carville on last night? That was the last straw for me. No more O’Reilly. If I want to see a Carville, I’ll go out to the sewage lagoon.
It has nothing to do with capitalism or literary tastes. I have no problem with someone writing a book and keeping all the cash. Heck, they can make a Scrooge McDuck pile and do backflips into it for all I care.
What I have a problem with is people claiming that the Holy Spirit “inspired” their writing, and then wanting to profit from it. If it came from God, it’s not your work, and you don’t get to charge people money for it. If you want to charge people, then fess up that you wrote it yourself and stop slandering the Holy Spirit.
If you were however attempting to insult me shame on you for your 1) attempt to veil your ad hominem directed at me and 2) inability to be straight up and specific with your personal attack.

Little full of ones self are we?
