Wednesday, Sept. 18, marks National Cheeseburger Day, and many national chains and local burger joints are celebrating by giving away free burgers.
Since its origin in the early 1920s, the cheeseburger is one of Americas most beloved foods and certainly worthy of its own national (but unofficial) day.

Putting cheese on a good hamburger is a sign of lunacy.
I will gladly pay you Tuesday ...
How about bread?
Very thin buns. Light mustard, good veggies. Meat at least an half inch thick.
Mrs. R2 was at Sonic the other day. Wanted a hamburger. They had a BOGO free offer on cheeseburgers So OK, she asks if she can have hamburgers instead.
Sure. But she would have to pull full price for that. So she asks if she can order cheeseburgers and hold the cheeese. Yeah, they could do that. And they did. And only charged her for one.
pull full price = PAY full price.
(sheesh)
It's not a cheeseburger, but the Burger King $1 bacon burger is the best deal for the money that I know of.
And they want to get paid $15.00/hr...
Thin buns, mayo, grilled red onions, sauteed mushrooms, beefsteak tomato slices and home grown beef - half inch thick medium rare. Just what we had on Saturday and Sunday. Juice running down your chin and arm yum yum good!
That happened to me when McD started 99 cent double cheeseburgers. I ordered a double hamburger and it was $1.50. I said, okay, make it a double cheese and hold the cheese. Clerked laughed and admitted to the lunacy of it all and I got my double McD no cheese.
Know cheese, know food
Fixed.
It must also have green chile.
Sounds great!
My girl and I will go to Fuddruckers and split a rare one pound burger (one pound is a lot cheaper than two half-pounders).
We each load up with what veggies we want. Instead of paying $1.00 for cheese, she uses the nacho cheese on the bar.
We always leave happy.
We used to buy McD’s double cheeseburger with nothing on it for our dog. He loved them. Unfortunately, he secumbed to Pancreatic Cancer in Feb. We miss him a lot.
