during last night's NFL game, Directv ran an ad promoting the new Al Jazeera channel in their line up.
No WAY.
I just sent them an email giving them two options ---
Block/remove it, or cancel my account.
Not going to come into our house.

I noticed the adverts as well, thinking of cancelling. Removed hbo and showtime just last week despite their trying to make a deal with me. I live in a very rural area with not many choices, but I gave been po’ed about several things of late.

I don’t like it either, but we already have to do with trash like MTV, MTV2, BET, LOGO and the black-only premium movie channels...you just have to decide if the whole shebang is worth it. I am almost at that point to say eff it and drop the whole mess.

Think about how much money you would save over the course of a year by pulling the plug.
I fired the wire late last year, and have saved about $1K.
TV is junk food for the mind. I don’t miss it at all.

I've seen ads for it as well. I believe it is DISH channel 215 if I want to tune in. I don't care if DISH carries it. Al-Jazeera cannot be any more of an America-hating network than MSNBC or the major networks. Hell, they can't hate America more than most leftists/democrats/Hollywood, etc.

I have Verizion FIOS.
I wouldn't care as long as its in English so I can see (hear) what they are saying.
All those Spanish only channels really annoy me, especially when they do political shows and I have no idea what they are saying.

From what I've seen so far, Aljazeera is attempting to deliver ‘straight’ news. They know a lot of people are waiting to see the ‘slant’ so they're on their best behavior. We'll see what how long that lasts.

I don’t get or pay for Bridges TV or CCTV.
They did just recently start foisting Pivot on me.
They also provide a steady stream of left-wing wacko-ism
with channels like LinkTV and FSTV (good for a laugh now and then)
