A football team in Russia has offered Tim Tebow $1 million to play in two playoff games.
We have offered him $1 million for two games, Moscow Black Storm owner Mikhail Zaltsman told Russia Beyond The Headlines. I talked with him personally and he wanted to go.
Zaltsman wants Tebow to fly to Moscow for the Black Storms semifinal against the Moscow Patriots in the American Football Championship of Russia on Sept. 28 and also play in the final if they advance.
Zaltsman said Tebows agents are urging the quarterback to not play.
Theyre thinking of using him as a motivational speaker, Zaltsman said. They dont want him to play football.
Tebow, the former Heisman Trophy winner at Florida and first-round draft pick of the Denver Broncos, is a free agent after being released by the New England Patriots on Aug. 31.

If he fails, he will seriously hurt his reputation in the U.S. I don’t think it is worth the risk.

Why not go?
I don’t think Tebow has much of a future in the NFL.

I support him going. His future in the NFL is in question, and it would be a cool experience to go somewhere where the papers would likely praise him rather than attack and demean him.

I dont think it is worth the risk.$1,000,000 is not worth the risk?
To: rickmichaels
It's not reasonable to think you can walk into any system, not knowing your team and be successful in “play off games”.
This sounds like a PR gimmick.

He would be a better representative of our country in competition with the Russians than our President.

He does have a helluva future if he would give up the goal of playing QB... which he won’t.
That’s why the pats won’t take him.
To: nuconvert
Read it again. It’s the American football (vs futbol everywhere else in the world) league. Both teams are Russian.

It’s hard to quantify the value of reputation in money terms, but doing something like this would have unlimited downside potential. Tebow’s reputation is clearly worth a lot more than $1,000,000 dollars.

I believe Tim Tebow should take the offer. I think he might do so if the offer were for $1 instead of $1 million. What an opportunity for a believer to deliver his message by his very presence to the whole of Russia.

He belongs in Jacksonville, but its Muslim owner doesn’t want a religious Christian to be his team’s icon. So Jags fans are left to wonder if future hall of famer Blaine Gabbert will be able to top last week’s stellar TWO point performance against the Raiders in Oakland today.
