In my view a SWAT team that invades the wrong house should face the sakes charges I would face if I invaded a house. Each individual cop should be prosecuted for breaking and entering, threatening, and unlawful restraint.

It would be a bit pointless to go after the trigger pullers. These guys are told "this is the house, and you're looking for this person."

The problem is the systematic incompetency, entitlement, and casual assumption of do-whatever-we-want-we're-the-LAW that allows crap like this to happen -- somebody put that address on file as belonging to a criminal w/o verifying it, somebody tagged the house as the target w/o verifying it, somebody gave the OK to the "raid" w/o verifying it, etc etc. Never mind that police shouldn't be legally allowed to blow their way into a house like this, without an extremely compelling reason. And I don't consider snagging somebody they did catch and release on once already to be a compelling reason.

This is a very deep and systematic problem that needs to be addressed.

No, actually, they should be in MORE trouble than you would. They committed the same crime, but did so under color of authority.
