“I have 2 tomato plants. Dozens of blossoms. No tomatoes. What gives?”

I’m referring you to greeneyes and ApplegateRanch for possible answers to your tomato problem.

Anyone else reading this who has a theory about his tomatoes, please post it.

It all depends. Do you have plenty of bees? If not, they may need to be fertilized by hand. Sometimes just flipping them with your finger can shake them and help fertilize.

Is it very hot? Tomatoes won’t set when the temps get too high. Their is a spray that you can buy that will help them set fruit in hot weather-I don’t remember the name, but you could do a search, if that is what you think your problem is. Also, a shade from the afternoon sun can help.

Also, once you get below 50 degrees, tomatoes don’t like to grow in the 40’s, but will survive. You can help them by covering them with row covers at night, and maybe even during the day-raises the temp about 4 degrees.

For colder weather, you can make an improvised green house with plastic over pvc pipe, or some other way to keep the plastic elevated off the plants.

That’s about all I can think of for now.
