The cartoon that Gary Trudeau had in the Sunday Comics was the most tasteless abomination I've seen, even for him.
Joking about forest fire fighters being ineffective at doing their job, being impaired because they were inhaling marijuana smoke from a illegal "grow", so close to when 19 were killed fighting a recent forest fire, not only made me cringe it made me wonder about the mental capabilities and judgement of the those who chose to include this strip.
Trudeau was kicked off the Washington Post's comics page and moved to the editorial page for his tactlessness (and political agenda) not that long ago. Now to have put him back in the one section for the family to share is reckless.

The first time I read one of this man’s “cartoons” it hacked me off so bad I never read it again. That was 40 years ago and I still remember the cartoon.
He ripped this off from Cheech and Chong from over 40 yrs ago but it was Guardsmen detailed to burn the maryjane patch.
Well, you could always publish your own cartoon with Trudeau being a pimple on the ass of the quintessential cartoonist. Please, however, grow a thicker skin than his.
I thought it was funny.

Trudeau has never been funny. He’s a liberal jerk but frankly, I don’t see that he is making any reference to the 19 heroes who died in Arizona. He’s not making the cartoon about the firemen or suggesting they are incompetent. It is logical to assume that anyone breathing the smoke from a blazing pot field would be affected and it doesn’t appear that they are intentionally inhaling the smoke fumes. I’ve seen much worse material from him and others.
Ha ha! The joke is on Jane Pauley whose had to live with his withered pee- pee all these years! The guy is a mutant!

I didn’t realize that anyone actually read newspapers anymore. Can’t remember the last time I saw someone reading the Washington Post. And I live near Washington.
Thread sounds like a bunch of DUs-——”First Amendment for me not for thee” crowd. Disgusting.
Bet he was more concerned about an evil corporation’s “oil spill” than two hippies’ crop of pot going up in smoking leading to the deaths of the firefighters (at least in Trudeau’s view).
