I never understand Hollywood remaking a good movie. The remake will always be measured against the original; and that sets a very high bar. The original Robocop was a great movie not only because it was a great action flick, it had a great story line and excellent actors for all the rolls. A very high bar to try and top.

I see the ad's all the time for this & that new movie.
Havent seen anything since Master & Commander in a movie theatre. That, a decade ago.
Only went to see that after reading all of the Aubrey-Maturin books, & took my Dad, because I knew he would like it.
And at that time he was near 80 and didnt get out much
Havent seen ANYTHING in a theater since.
Hollyweird just doesnt make much of anything I want to see...

I’ll keep my non-blue-ray-dvd of the original.
Oh, did you catch the phrase in one of the trailers, where the term, “the illusion of free will”, was spoken?
I agree, back before cops became federalized, militarized, thugs.
To: RoosterRedux
I’ll stick with the original movie Hollywood, but thanks for wasting millions of dollars on a remake.

I prefer Carl Weathers as Action Jackson. I loved that movie.

Looks to be pc pap. And it has Samuel L. Jackson. I’ll pass. Might watch it when it gets to cable but probably not even then.

The only question is which remake will be worse, this or “Total Recall”?

Clarence Boddicker for President and Cain as VP.
Now there’s a ticket you can support.
To: Jane Long
No, But Bruce Dern isn't doing anything right now. He's ready-to-go from central casting.

If they’re going to remake something, remake Clue. I won’t care if they decide to change the ending. I won’t care if they gave it five new endings. (I’d love it, in fact!) just keep it funny! ... No, wait, I see the problem with that. Hollywood isn’t funny any more.

Will probably be another loud CGI snoozefest. I’d see it if they’d do the effects with stop motion animation like the original. That would be a cool retro move.

To quote the original
Robocop:
"I like it!!"
I especially like the updated and sleeker looking ED-209.
