My Charter Communications cable television went out about 3 hours ago. I know, boohoo you say :) I agree but I was interested in the FedEx Cup golf I had DVRed. It went black and I soon discovered the entire cable feed was off.
I called Charter and the rep asked do I live in Georgia. Yes, I reply. He says there is a big problem and it's out for the entire state of Georgia. No estimate to get it back on but "repair crews had been dispatched." groan....
I searched bing, google and the local news site but no news article about the outage was found.

This requires 1) distancing themselves are fast as possible from the disastrous current regime and 2) creating a false veneer “objectivity”.

In a prior life I was a very small time cable operator. Sold out in Sept of ‘99. Within a year I had quit watching television altogether. None since.
One of the many reasons I sold and quit is a woman who was literally hooked on a daytime soap opera. One day, the transmitter for one of the terrestrial broadcast stations that I carried went down hard...during the woman’s time with her soap. She called me (my office) in tears. She was inconsolable. It was Friday, and the entire week’s drama was coming to a great crescendo. Laura and what’s-iz-name were going to escape or become trapped or find the villain out or...well, you get the idea.
As I said, you have my sympathy...not a lot of it, though.

I watch news nets, sports and old movies.I rarely watch network programming and never get involved in the so-called “reality TV” shows.
