Johnny Football will start the season on the bench.
Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel of No. 7 Texas A&M has been suspended for the first half of Saturday's season opener against the Rice Owls, a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy on Wednesday afternoon.
An agreement has been reached between the NCAA and Texas A&M that a source told McMurphy closes the book on Manziel's recent issues. The NCAA had been investigating whether Manziel was paid for autographs, a potential violation of amateurism rules that could threaten his eligibility.

This will be his final collegiate year anyway.
His parents sold the home in Aggie-land and the signs have been obvious that he was setting his sights on pro-ball.
I think he should set his sights on .....
STAYING OUT OF JAIL.

This could be a good thing — half as many games where he might get injured.

That’s the NCAA saying: we don’t have the power of subpoena and your dad can afford better lawyers than ours, but we all know you broke a rule.

Racism that black players who did way less than Manziel got suspended for the whole season? You are probably right.

Half of ONE game.
To: BenLurkin
No no, one half of one game.

A few guys trade jerseys for tattoos and their coach’s career ends and their team ends up bowl-banned.
