I’d rather own them than a winning team, then. There I said it. It’s a business.

The owner must be a businessman.

He may not have “pride of ownership” but he’s quite happy with “pride of cash flow”.

I understand, the Astros are close to signing a deal whereby the club will be known as The Houston Astros Sponsored By Dollar Tree.

Bring back those god-awful uniforms from the 80s.

Crane giving Marlins owner Loria competition for who is the cheapest bastard in Baseball.

Loria still wins though, at least Crane didn't conspire to steal hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars to fun a new stadium for himself and then put a minor league team on the field the very next season.

Why did they pick the name “Astros”? Sounds like a dog’s name. They should have kept their original name, the Colt 45’s.

Dang. Another title stolen from the Pirates.

You gotta go 20 losing seasons in a row to catch our record!

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were also very profitable back when they were the worst NFL team year after year.

Good for them — and Bo Porter has them on the right track.

2013 ASTROS: BASEBALL'S WORST...I beg to differ - after a game the Phillies played against San Francisco a few weeks ago - Cole Hamels had the Phils ahead going into the 9th by 1-0 - Hamels had gotten the hit which scored the one run - "ace" reliever Jonathon Papelbon came in to save the game and promptly gave up two runs, but Philly still had an inning to bat in the last of the ninth, wherein their first three batters reached base through SF misplays, such as the pitcher slipping and falling down in trying to field a slow roller - so bases loaded and no outs in the last of the ninth - and Philadelphia couldn't score one run with those remaining three outs - final, SF 2, Philly 1 - the most inept team I can remember - good bye, Charlie Manuel......

"Comcast SportsNet Houston pays the Astros $80 million."

I wonder if Comcast is losing money on the deal? I would think that only die-hard fans would be watching and the ratings are in the toilet. The next time around, Comcast better put in the A-team to negotiate price.
