Why did they pick the name “Astros”? Sounds like a dog’s name. They should have kept their original name, the Colt 45’s.

I preferred the Colt 45s, I don’t think that I have seen a game since they changed their name.

They used to play in the Astrodome which was next to Astroworld.

Why did they pick the name “Astros”? Sounds like a dog’s name.

The owners consulted with some of the astronauts at NASA about honoring them with the new "nickname" of Astros.

They should have kept their original name, the Colt 45’s.

The team was fighting a lawsuit with the Colt Firearms Company over the ballclub's use of the "Colt .45" name.
