NEW VIKING KITTY

Calliope has been around for awhile, been to the vet for the full treatment but she has been hiding under a bed most of the time.
Today she discovered my den with it's kitty treats and a cool red laser to chase. My daughter won't be happy if her cat gets hijacked, LOL
She is about 5 months old, another rescue kitty.

Wow! Another heart-stealing, raving beauty! She is spectacular.
Best wishes for a long and healthy life for Calliope, full of joy and companionship for your daughter.

Personally, I think torties are extra sweet and goofy, not tortitudinous!

Then you have not tried to take one to the vets office lately (lol).
Seriesly, though my torties are also half siamese so that may explain some of the attitude.

She’s a Tortie! They can have a stubborn streak famously know as “Tortitude”!
I had one that lived to be 19. She was the best lap cat but boy was she stubborn!
Congratulations, Swamp!

Just be forewarned that Bengals are “master escape artists” - as we were told when looking for a new kitteh. They are great cats but VERY active, like to climb and jump and NEED attention. Probably not a good choice if you are gone most of the day. We ended up with a Ragdoll - much more mellow and laid back.

Thank you for the advice. I have heard the same. I would not want to get an animal and not be able to give it the proper attention.

I have a torbie myself. Of our three cats (all female, one’s an orange tabby and the other a tortoiseshell) she’s the most independent.

Yup. My tortie frequently chases strays off our property. While she doesn’t bother our orange tabby (who is bigger than she is, although that doesn’t always seem to deter her), she frequently hisses and swipes at our torbie. And the torbie is one of her kittens, even (the torbie is currently 18 months old).

I have to agree. I have three, the Torbie is Sarah. She’s 16+ and is the smartest animal in the house. Her kidneys are starting to go :-(. Taking her in tomorrow for teeth scaling, a very common problem with Torbies) Two days ago, she jumped out of a tree crotch and sprained something in the hip/leg. I though it was broken..vet confirmed not breaks, thank goodness. Been an expensive week.
