Yesterday we published a set of maps that came from a survey about what Americans think of other states.
Essentially, each respondent was asked to answer a question with a state that wasn't their own, like which state is the drunkest, the nicest, the most arrogant.
We looked at the data and decided to compress the 22 maps into one map.

On this map, every state that won a superlative — first place in any question — has its claims to fame in bolded print. For instance, Colorado was the top vote getter in the Most Beautiful scenery category.

Nonsense. The perception of Philly fans is based on oft-repeated ancient tales about Santa being booed, targeted with snowballs, assaulted with batteries, and many other embellishments. The fanbase is generally intense but basically the same as in other Northeastern cities.
Arkansas the dumbest. OK, I could go along with that sixty years ago when we moved here from the Rockies, but not today, and lest not in WALMART country. The rest of the state is still a brick shy of a load.
Sam did more to up the education here than anyone around, broke the economic stranglehold of THE CHICKEN MEN who kept everyone in poverty (too poor to leave).
