I have seen FR posts show up in Google within 5 minutes of the original post. Not sure if this is the exception or the rule. But interesting.

One day sitting at my desk...there was what sounded like a large explosion just outside my window. I jumped several feet in the air expecting Janet Reno and company to kick down the door at any moment. The explosion was pf course a simple backfire form a passing vehicle.

I have found things I posted on other, apolitical sites, show up exceptionally fast on Google too. It seems faster than it was before. I think they have better spiders/web-crawlers than before, if that is the key.

Google must have a priority list, because topics on FR show up very quickly in Google search. Most likely just based on Alexa or similar website ratings.
The rapid detection rate is what astonished me.
material from elsewhere while it may eventually be referenced does not appear to be referenced nearly as quickly as material from The Free Republic.

Nothing new. All FR posts are in search engines within minutes. This is why it is faster to use google search instead of the FR search tool.
