Dont look now, but maybe a scientific consensus exists concerning global warming after all. Only 36 percent of geoscientists and engineers believe that humans are creating a global warming crisis, according to a survey reported in the peer-reviewed Organization Studies. By contrast, a strong majority of the 1,077 respondents believe that nature is the primary cause of recent global warming and/or that future global warming will not be a very serious problem.
The survey results show geoscientists and engineers hold similar views as meteorologists. Two recent surveys of meteorologists (summarized here and here) revealed similar skepticism of alarmist global warming claims.
According to the newly published survey of geoscientists and engineers, merely 36 percent of respondents fit the Comply with Kyoto model. The scientists in this group express the strong belief that climate change is happening, that it is not a normal cycle of nature, and humans are the main or central cause.
The survey finds that 24 percent of the scientist respondents fit the Nature Is Overwhelming model. In their diagnostic framing, they believe that changes to the climate are natural, normal cycles of the Earth. Moreover, they strongly disagree that climate change poses any significant public risk and see no impact on their personal lives".
It’s not unanimous?
Bump to read later when Freerepublic is hopefully working right
That is called the “overwhelming” consensus
I wonder if there is any correlation between ‘scientists’ who believe in AGW and low GPA in college
So it looks like a landslide victory - over 64% of scientists say it is not true.
So, we have a consensus
I’m one geoscientist who believes AGW is a bunch of 0bama.
I thought it was my computer. Can't scroll very far. You?
So 64% of them just like dirty air and water, that’s all that means.
Times change and so do conditions based on some phenomena determined by the Creator. Some people want whats been created to be what they want it to be. There is another group to which I as a Chm. Eng. belong that says/believes that what was and is being created is God’s work for us to try and figure out and to live with such.
I must have forgotten more of my high school science lessons than I had realized. Where does ‘consensus’ fit in the scientific method? While I’m fairly sure that hypothesis still comes first, does the ‘consensus’ step come before or after doing experiments?
Temperatures falling: caused by global warming
More storms: caused by global warming
Fewer storms: caused by global warming
Lack of consensus on global warming: caused by global warming
Yup. The old lies will go straight down the media’s “memory hole.”
Only problem is, there's a growing consensus among climatologists, including the British Meteorological Office, that there hasn't been any damn gloBULL warming at all since 1997!
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
More tornadoes this year? Climate change.
Fewer tornadoes this year? Climate change.
No rain? Climate change.
Torrental rains and flooding? Climate change.
It's ridiculous how many people have bought into ths nonsense.
Consensus IS science. So said the world’s expert, Algore, AKA Manbearpig.
He also knows the Earth’s core is millions of degrees.
It only appeared different because of the RADICAL LEFTIST PROPAGANDA of lies from Gore and company, who are still trying to cling to the scam even though AGW is AWOL
The science of consensus. lol
twinkles up.
heh
