FULL TITLE: Mystery of girl, 15, who was only reported missing by her brother - and not her parents - TWO YEARS after she was last seen

Police in North Carolina say the adoptive parents of a 15-year-old girl missing since 2011 did not report her disappearance for two years - and now they are refusing to cooperate with the investigation.

Erica Lynn Parsons was reported missing by her 19-year-old brother last week after she was last seen leaving the Salisbury home of her parents in November 2011.

An attorney hired by Erica's adoptive parents, Casey and Sandy Parsons, claimed that his clients were under the impression that the 15-year-old went to live with her biological mother and wanted to be left alone, the Charlotte Observer reported.

The lawyer, Carlyle Sherrill, said that two years ago, a person claiming to be a relative or friend of Erica's birth parents came by Parsonses' home on Miller Chapel Road to pick her up and take her to her family.

The adoptive parents said they did not raise an alarm at the time because Erica visited that person in Asheville on several occasions.

According to Sherrill, In February 2012, Erica called the Parsonses and informed them in no uncertain terms that she was not coming back because she did not want to live with them anymore, Asheville Citizen-Times reported.

‘They looked at it as being a rebellious teenager. That was an attitude they took,’ Sherrill said. ‘I don't know that at any time it dawned on them she was a missing person.’

According to police investigating the case, when they questioned Casey and Sandy Parsons over a two-day period last week, the parents lied to them and were uncooperative.

Sadly, there are way too many of these throw away kids today.

Friends? Smart phone? Face book? Neighbors? Boyfriend?

There is a program on the Christian broadcasting station(TV) that has a guest every year that discusses how many young people are TAKEN and FORCED into the SEX trade.

Often foreign, not always. They are made to be drug addicts, and are closely monitored and locked up, etc.

It is big business. The youths travel the United States and are mostly on the go continually.

It is not too late to check all these sources out.

COLD Cases do get solved.

Way to many parents, adoptive and natural that aren’t up to the task of properly raising a child. So maybe the girl was troubled,it’s the responsibility of the parents to seek help for her and to keep trying until she does better.

My brother in law recently discovered that his sister who was missing and presumed dead in the 70s or 80s may be alive.

Seems that police in California recently discovered a rental storage space containing belongings of a serial killer. Apparently my brother in law’s sister’s photo was among his belongings. Police then found a woman claiming to be the sister but she said she didn’t want any contact but police aren’t really sure its her yet.

Since the names and phone numbers of the so-called biological parents are false, I would say that she was killed by her parents and her body dumped far off the beaten path.

There always have been.

In the United States from the forties through the sixties it was reported that hundreds of thousands of kids were runaways.

Now we have other names for the lost children of that era.

Instead of “runaways” we call them “Cold Case Files” and “Unsolved Mysteries.”

Some did go start a new life, but others were murdered and very little was done to find out what happened to them.

Just like in the movie Taken. Unfortunately most parents do not have the money, training, and luck to get their children back.

That could very well be true. This stinks to high heaven.

Stupid reporter tricks, again. No picture of her as a 15 year old posted in case someone recognizes her. No names of the relatives or city where she supposedly went to live. No interviews with her friends. No explaination why her brother is just now claiming she’s missing. No explaination why the grandparents are just now worried about her well being. What was the point in the story?

Not saying that something horrible didn’t happen to the girl but it these days teens think they can just up and leave their families without so much as a how do you do. It seems to be a fad. Three have done this in our extended family and two friends of our kids have done this. All are girls. All come from good stable homes with wonderful middle to upper middle class parents. Their friends lie for them. They usually run off to their boyfriends’ and the boys’ parents also lie for them. If the parents go to bf’s house, his parents call the cops on them. The cops won’t help because the girls are teens or are 18. They won’t answer their cells if mom or dad calls. The parents are worried sick. The only explaination these girls give is whaaaaa, my parents are into my business!!! It the craziest thing I’ve ever seen.

“Where the hell has the adoptive agency been for two years?”

The adoption was formalized when the girl was still very young. Once an adoption is formalized, the agency is out of the equation. For example, when we adopted from China.. we had one scheduled visit from our social worker about two months after we returned home. It was simply a follow up to check that we were all doing well. (and we were, of course)

This case sounds like a similar one I saw on television. A grown woman reports to police that her sister was murdered by her Mother years back. The police don’t believe it for years until one investigator looks into it. He connects a Jane Doe with the DNA of the woman reporting her sister missing. IMHO, the parents know a lot more than they are saying.

Read the whole article again dude! The brother had a beef with the parents and was tossed out of the house. He then rats on them. I think he knows something.
