All we are saying, is give pizza a chance.
I have some friends who moved to the Boston area and they say they can’t find a good pizza anywhere.
Two Brothers Pizza!
Uno’s and Due’s Chicago. Best deep dish EVER.

A SPECIAL INVESTIGATION - WHY WEST COAST PIZZA TASTES LIKE CRAP

(copyright 1999 but it still rings true)
Imagine theres no pizza
I couldnt if I tried
Eating only tacos
Or Kentucky Fried
Imagine only burgers
Its frightening and sad
Youre lucky you have pizza
To feed your kids for you
Only frosting or cookies
And no dishes you must do
Imagine eating pizza
Each and every day
You may say that its junk food
But to me its so much more
It gives my life its meaning
And it makes a lot of dough
Imagine mozzarella
Anchovies on the side
And maybe, pepperoni
Rounds out your pizza pie
Imagine getting pizza
Delivered to your door
You dont have to give up now
On my skateboard I will go
Ill be back in 30 minutes
I just bought Dominoes
All I am saying
Is give pizza a chance
All I am saying
Give pizza a chance!
All I am saying
Is give pizza a chance
All I am saying
Youve got to, got to give pizza a chance!

Ahhh the ever enduring notion that NYC is the center of the universe......
On the other hand, I recently ate pizza at Grimaldi's in Las Vegas (Caesar's Forum). Excellent!
Oh, and the lady in the article who states,"Las Vegas doesn't have any good food..." is out to lunch. At Mickey D's. I ate at Craftsteak. El Diablos, and Pearl. All great places. Many of the best chefs in the world are in Vegas. The days of the 99 cent buffet are gone. Even Gordon Ramsay's restaurants are good-except for the shouting! LOL!
I live in Boston - the pizza here sucks - especially in the North End. The restaurants think far too much of themselves.
Civic Boosterism Alert.....
Pittsburgh absolutely belongs on this list. We experienced a mass influx of Italians during the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Lots of mom and pop pizza shops that are VERY authentic. National chains have a tough time competing with them in this town.
Usually when Chicago are not one and two it is some snooty gourmet non-pizza beauty contest. I have had pizza in just about every part of the country, often recommended by locals. Chicago deep dish and NY pizzas are different but the best anywhere.
I’ve had a lot of pizza in different places but I don’t like just one type of pizza though. Sometimes I like deep dish Chicago style and other times I like the greasy dripping NY style and sometimes I like a nice Sicilian style. If I had to rate fast food chain pizza I’d probably favor the Topper’s Chain for the #1 spot plus no place I’ve encountered beats their topperstix. If I stuck to just national chains that are everywhere. I’d have to give a slight edge to Pizza Hut though Papa Johns and Dominos are good on occasion. The best local pizza is a great place called Pizza Express. The pizza is real NY style and they deliver everything.
The most unique experience I’ve had at a pizza restaurant
was at the Fat Cat Pie Co in Norwalk CT. If you expect big greasy pizza you won’t like it. Its not a place for take out or delivery. Its pizza is thin and the ingredients are all organic. What I loved the most is the assortment of spices that they bring out with the pizza which allow you to make each slice a unique experience if you desire. It also has a wonderful atmosphere with an excellent bar filled with a great selection of wines and beers. It is the only “pizza” place I’d recommend for an elegant date night.

Lastly the number one discount pizza in my book is Little Caesars though Cicis is close behind.
*Los Angeles* has Mexican. So does Texas. So does Arizona. New Mexico has Mexican/Indian. Everywhere else, you might as well be eating Taco Bell. I saw a Mexican place in NYC regarded as 'NYC's best authentic Mexican' and it was like some kind of upscale Chevy's that served colorful margaritas.
The flour tortilla is heresy. Corn tortillas should be no larger in diameter than a baseball and made within a very short time of being served.
Sorry to hijack the thread. Someone mentioned Mexican.
New York pizza is crap, along with East Coast pizza in general.
