I've seen a huge increase in 'service dogs' in public places. Many (or most) don't look able to provide any kind of service. Not all services are obvious to the casual observer. Some service dogs react to a change in the person's chemical balance to detect an iminent seizure or stress/panic attack and alert the person. There are several other legitimate services provided by service dogs other than guiding people with blindness or other visually obvious physical handicaps.

Personally I consider this to be complete bullsh!t and just another way of abusing the system. Whatever did people do without crystal ball dogs.
