Prepare to be outraged.....Shocking Surveillance Video Captures Cop Brutally Beating Female Shoplifter In Front Of Her 1 Yr Old Child in Iowa.
I worked in corporate loss prevention a long time ago...let me tell you...this is beyond lawsuit...these cops should be in prison.
Video: http://www.ktrh.com/pages/michaelberry.html?article=11556885
The black guy is described as her boyfriend, and a “community activist” who was apparently involved with some sort of sensitivity training for the police department. Hearing his name mentioned when she called him to pick up the kid may have sent them over the edge. As we all know by now, “community activists” can be quite annoying;)
“She has been arested multiple times for shoplifting. She fought with the policeman when he tried to arrest her and bit his finger and would not let go. He slugged her twice to get his finger back and when he did he hit her again one more time. She traveled to Chicago to hire a black person to represent her so now she can sue. She is a former thief and you cannot believe any thing she says. 10 years of theft and jail time. The cop should not have hit her the 2rd time but we dont know what she was doing.”
Video can be misleading when their is no context.
I’ve heard about those guys in Korea...they’ re probably chiefs by now!;)
But I would dial 911 if I had the drop on her with my weapon, as opposed to killing or beating her.
There is a recurring belief on FR threads, unjustified by any Constitutional principle, that you can use deadly force against any intruder in any circumstance.
The cop doesn’t belong in prison, he belongs in a nut house. He is insane. Criminally insane.
I had a home invasion and guns stolen a few years back, and they saw I had more guns by the boxes I had. So I am going to assume that any intruder coming in is coming in for the weapons they saw but did not get.
You can play nice with intruders and give them the benefit of the doubt; I will not.
Ah, so you would just let her bite your finger off.
You lying SOS, she did not bite him, the guy jumped on her and started hitting her and then his partner joined in. She was sitting down the whole time. Cop apologists are just about as bad, if not worse, than liberal pukes.
She did not bite the cop. He was standing a ways away from her when she said something he evidently didn't like, he ran over to her pushed her and started hitting her, his partner then joined in. I don't think she bit him even then, she was too busy having her face rearranged to think about biting. She certainly didn't bite him before he hit her. Cops don't have the right to beat on you just because they don't like you. This is clearly a felony by these two "Peace Officers"(puke)and they should be in jail.
Perhaps. It's just that I was raised not to hit a woman. Seeing a cop brutally punching a woman in the face repeatedly, in front of her toddler is totally uncalled for, and that cop needs to be jailed and punished, period. If he's angry with her, then cuff her and jail her, that should be the extent of his professional duties. This cop is an ass.
The reasonableness is dependent on the specific circumstances.
If a woman broke into my home in the daytime, I, as a 6'6" 240 lb man would have a problem using deadly force unless she had a weapon or something.
Now, if the woman starts to grab my 9 y.o. son, bang!
**She did not bite the cop.**
According to the local news (WOC), he was bitten while attempting a pressure point. He has had shots, and blood tests (which he will have to continue to have on a regular basis).
Video IS edited. No audio.
I like having all of my fingers.
Exactly.
If you know anything about me- I’ve been in a prison system for 30 years.
Violence makes me ill.
I hate it, but it is necessary to employ it to protect country, civil order, the innocent and the helpless, at appropriate times.
This was not one of them.
You don't know that. And I've read in at least one story that she admitted to biting his hand.
The problem here, just like the Trayvon/Zimmerman incident, is selective editing.
Everything that happened between the time the officer reaches for the woman's cell phone and the punching has been removed.
Considering that the woman's lawyer released the edited tape, what do you suppose was removed? It's obvious to me the bite was removed.
Most likely she bit his finger as he reached for the phone and he became enraged. He lacked some self-control, but I don't think he's a villain for becoming angry for being bitten.
“she did not bite him”

At 1:15 of that video she admits to biting him. She claims it was because “nothing else she had tried had worked.”
Of course, submitting to the lawful arrest would have worked just fine.
At 0:55 of that video, can you tell me what the woman does?
The cops are just talking to her at that point. She leans forwards and either yells or spits while continuing to talk on the phone.
If you were the arresting officer, tasked with the lawful arrest of a thief...how long would you stand there waiting for her to get off of her phone when you told her she was under arrest?
Do you believe that as you’re being arrested that you have the right...to finish up your phone call?
When a cop tells you that you’re under arrest...and you refuse to comply, and yell at them...don’t be surprised if they then forcibly take you into custody.
And if you bite them, don’t be surprised if they respond in kind.
You can believe the thief and her community organizer boyfriend if you wish...I’ll believe what I saw on video.
Steal clothes, refuse to comply with a lawful arrest, and then assault the cops...yet you feel sympathy for the habitual thief.
Amazing.
Thanks for the info.
Do you infer the “raw” video at the link was edited?
The local news outlets in the ‘Quad Cities’ ( of which Davenport is a part of) have asked the police to release the entire unedited video complete with audio. Since the crook has made a big deal of it, they are no doubt following State’s Attorney’s counsel to let all the facts speak for themselves in the courtroom.
I listened to WOC this afternoon, with over 3 hrs of local callers with their comments. Easily, 3-1 supporting the cops.
