“she did not bite him”

http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/davenport-iowa-police-beating-peraica-218422791.html

At 1:15 of that video she admits to biting him. She claims it was because “nothing else she had tried had worked.”

Of course, submitting to the lawful arrest would have worked just fine.

At 0:55 of that video, can you tell me what the woman does?

The cops are just talking to her at that point. She leans forwards and either yells or spits while continuing to talk on the phone.

If you were the arresting officer, tasked with the lawful arrest of a thief...how long would you stand there waiting for her to get off of her phone when you told her she was under arrest?

Do you believe that as you’re being arrested that you have the right...to finish up your phone call?

When a cop tells you that you’re under arrest...and you refuse to comply, and yell at them...don’t be surprised if they then forcibly take you into custody.

And if you bite them, don’t be surprised if they respond in kind.

You can believe the thief and her community organizer boyfriend if you wish...I’ll believe what I saw on video.

Steal clothes, refuse to comply with a lawful arrest, and then assault the cops...yet you feel sympathy for the habitual thief.

Amazing.

I took another look at the video, and in the context of your remarks, it's easy to interpret the action to the effect that he moved toward her for some reason, perhaps to get her off the phone and arrest her, and from that point there's a lag between the time he does that and the time he starts flailing at her. During that time it's impossible to see exactly what's going on. If she were indeed biting him, he had the right to use force to protect himself. Indeed, I'd do the same thing in that situation.

This may be a classic instance of people allowing themselves to get carried away by their emotions on the basis of a disturbing picture.

Where are you getting all that information?

When a cop tells you that you’re under arrest...and you refuse to comply

Are you suggesting the LEO placed her under arrest from the other side of a desk, while he was 5 or 6 feet away from the suspect?

The officer, Scott Crow, said in his report he hit Redell because she bit his finger and wouldn’t let go.

The video, however, shows Crow striking Redell with both fists.

If she caused injury to the LEO, why wouldn’t the Department release big old images of his bitten finger? Would that not support the LEO’s allegation?
