Synopsis: Teenage girl trapped in car dying. Rescue workers keep breaking tools trying to get her out. She asks everyone to pray for her.

People start praying, and a Catholic priest appears with anointing oil.

A sense of calmness comes over the trapped driver as well as the rescue workers (who kept breaking equipment trying to free her).

Priest finally said that the rescuers' tools would work now and they would succeed in getting driver out of vehicle.

Then Hannibal (Missouri) Fire Dept. arrives, and she is free.

Priest disappears, and according to other accounts, he is not in any of 69 photos taken at the scene.

Finally, there is only one priest in the area, and he is not the priest who helped out. Road was blocked in both directions, so how did priest leave the scene?

The teenage driver was on her way to Church when the Drunk Driver crashed into her car.

It took a miracle for a priest to reach the victim.

See the Boston Bombing, where priests were turned away; http://www.catholicculture.org/commentary/the-city-gates.cfm?id=561

Simple answer here, at least to me. The Lord Himself appeared and helped her and the first responders. Once He had done what He only can do, He left. For those who don’t believe, make up your own version. Me? I’m sticking with mine.

If we could identify the priest, maybe this might be a miracle towards canonization.

This sounds like someone flew in to help and then left (and the priest was one of this world).

I don't understand the chronology. Who were the rescuers breaking tools?

Wonder if he looked like Fr. Emil Kapaun?

Angel's are God's Messengers. They sometimes appear outright, and sometimes they hop into existing people. But they are among us!

Sent to me by a friend:

Me: God, can I ask You a question? God: Sure Me: Promise You won't get mad God: I promise Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today? God: What do u mean? Me: Well, I woke up late God: Yes Me: My car took forever to start God: Okay Me: at lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait God: Huummm Me: On the way home, my phone went DEAD, just as I picked up a call God: All right Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home ~I just want to soak my feet in my new foot massager & relax. BUT it wouldn't work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did You do that? God: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had to send one of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that Me (humbled): OH GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road. Me: (ashamed) God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work. Me (embarrassed):Okay God: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered. Me (softly): I see God God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a shortage that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark. Me: I'm Sorry God God: Don't be sorry, just learn to Trust Me.... in All things , the Good & the bad. Me: I will trust You. God: And don't doubt that My plan for your day is Always Better than your plan. Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, Thank You for Everything today. God: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I Love looking after My Children...

From another source: Even odder, the black-garbed priest does not appear in any of the nearly 70 photos of the scene of the accident...

Having reviewed the photos from many major accident scenes, I can tell you that this is not at all surprising. Most of the photos are of the skid marks, debris trail and vehicle damage. They are taken to assist with the accident investigation.

There are some photos (often by passers-by and news organizations) of rescuers doing extrications, but there are very few LEO pics which include family members, bystanders or good Samaritans.

The day of the accident Sunday August 4th was the saint day of St. John Vianney, who is the patron saint of priests!

I shared this story with my Dad last night and he wrote me a beautiful reply relating a story he never told me before:

Most people are not aware of the supernatural world going on around us – the divisions of angels all with a designed mission and purpose. It is all there in the bible if one cares to read about it. I’ll relay an experience I had years ago- it certainly does not compare with that story and although my experience may appear trivial to others it has had a lasting impact on me:

I was in my 1st yr of college and having a rough time. I was seriously thinking of dropping out before I flunked out. I didn’t really want to be there and was disinterested in the coursework – I played hooky half the time but it was school or going off to Vietnam in those days. I had to take a bus and a train to get from home to school and back home and on this day I had just finished my last class and was walking the mile or so to the train station alone to catch the train home. I was about halfway there - walking down what was a paved but deserted road – rarely a car came by, there were houses on the road but spaced well apart. I had been on this road for about a quarter of a mile. The road was lined with tall trees, bushes and shrubs on both sides as a border, beyond which were neatly manicured cleared acreage. As I was walking I looked up and immediately saw a black man – dressed as though he was a gardener approach me carrying only a shovel over his shoulder. I didn’t see him coming and he was pretty much right in front of me when I did notice him. As he walked passed me he looked directly into my eyes – and with a smile merely said ‘Hang in there’. I didn’t say anything back and kept walking but I was immediately overcome with a strong feeling of peace and contentment and this feeling that he knew exactly what I was going through. I had only taken about a half dozen - a dozen steps and I turned around to see him – I don’t know whether I was going to approach him or say anything – I just remember thinking that I needed to see who that ‘special’ person was. No one was there. I walked back to see where he possibly could have gone – searched both sides of the road – there was really no where he could have gone – but he was gone. That was 40 years ago!

I stayed in college and graduated with honors 4 years later. Ever since that day whenever I get discouraged or am disappointed in the way things are going, I just think of the smiling gardener carrying that shovel and the peaceful feeling that overcame me that day and say to myself ‘Hang in there’….

‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight’…..Proverbs 3:5 NIV

BTTT! Truly an angel. The way the man appeared and disappeared — it could have even been Jesus Christ!
