The first question I would ask “Small Business Majority” and “American Sustainable Business Council” would be:

“How many members do you have and where do you get your funding from?”

The second question after that is:

“Do you know approximately how many small businesses there are in the US, and what percentage of them are members of your group(s)?”

This is just another couple of examples in an endless line of specious groups pretending to speak for vested parties on issues that often do not EXIST. Their purpose is disinformation, fomentation, activism, and political change through deceit.

Did some surfing:

According to the SBA, there are about 5+ million small businesses that employ people; about 23 million small businesses that don’t employ people:

Looking at Small Business MAJORITY’s website:

If you search for their member ‘profile examples’ there are no more than 150 (that’s generous). Some states like mine, Georgia, have no examples at all.

I submit that their ‘example profiles’ are really just their total members. 150 One Hundred Fifty - out of 5 million, or worse, out of 23 million.

The name of their group “blah, blah MAJORITY” tells you what they are. An old liberal trick....make up a group, give it a name, pump out reams of bullshit, and hope some lazy assed reporter picks it up, hoping to spew lies as truth to the American people.

Terrific post. A model of how to speak to these imposters.

Thats true. If you look into most of these groups you will find the same people. They are also receiving large amounts of fed tax dollars and employ advertising agencies to create the perception they are a large mainstream organization . Actually the truth is they are run out of a livingroom at someones house. They use virtual offices rented by name at some impressive address and have virtual telephone services with many extensions all going to the same phone. CAIR is a good example of this type of group. When they make public appearances for media the rent crowds to give airs of legitimacy.
