AOLs Moviefone has the first preview trailer of Lone Survivor, the film adaptation of retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrells first-hand account of a compromised 2005 special-ops mission that left three of Luttrells four-man team dead, as well as 16 other U.S. soldiers who attempted a daring rescue, and his harrowing tale of survival deep in enemy territory.

I’ll be checking that out in January.
Bought the book, but didn’t get to far yet. I have a habit of getting busy and leaving books unread or unfinished.
The beginning was extremely compelling and sobering. I need to get back to it.
Same, and for me, that’s a rare event anymore...
Loved the book. It’s an amazing story! May just have to read it again prior to the movie. Just heard Beck say that Luttrell said it was accurate and that he threatened to kill anyone who screwed it up. ;)
Myself as well. It’s too pricey nowadays.
That, and the movies for the last few years suck, IMO.
Agreed, most haven’t been good. The last two movies I saw in theaters were Skyfall and Act of Valor.
Mostly I wait for the DVD to appear at Redbox, but even those are becoming few, because of the quality. I have Netflix and if it wasn't for old, foreign and a few good TV series, I cancel it.
Only movie I thought he was really good in was The Fighter. Christian Bale was even better.
Too bad they couldn’t find an actor to play him.
Prometheus...worst Ridley Scott movie ever. I’m a big Scott fan as well.
Netflix or Hulu Plus are good bargains.
Christian Bale was awesome in American Psycho.
I thought he was great as Bob Lee Swagger.
Wahlberg was outstanding in “The Departed.”
More to do with the times we live in than their character.
It would be hard to find someone to play Audie Murphy. That essence of manhood is extinct. The closest anyone has come in recent memory to accurately portraying the attitudes of those times was Tom Hanks, and he did extensive research and talked to many surviving WWII Vets. Sadly, they're disappearing daily.
Would really love to see a movie based on Hathcock's service, if done right!
Oh, SO cool!
Did not know Wahlberg was in this...
Will def go see this, fer sure....
Considering he and three other guys practically wiped out 200 taliban fighters by themselves I’d take that threat seriously.
I will also have to read his book again, couldn’t put it down the first time.
