http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/neighborhoods/crime-rates/25-most-dangerous-neighborhoods/
Even the most dangerous cities in America can have relatively safe neighborhoods, as there is more variation in crime within most cities than between cities. But using exclusive data developed by NeighborhoodScout, and based on FBI data from all 17,000 local law enforcement agencies in America, we here report those specific neighborhoods in America that have the highest predicted rates of violent crime per 1,000 neighborhood residents of all. Violent crimes include murder, forcible rape, armed robbery, and aggravated assault. These neighborhoods are the epicenters of violence in America, where social issues are likely to ignite into violence and spread. See our FAQ on how we rank the most dangerous neighborhoods

Each year, roughly 7,000 blacks are murdered. Ninety-four percent of the time, the murderer is another black person. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, between 1976 and 2011, there were 279,384 black murder victims. Using the 94 percent figure means that 262,621 were murdered by other blacks. Though blacks are 13 percent of the nation's population, they account for more than 50 percent of homicide victims. Nationally, the black homicide victimization rate is six times that of whites, and in some cities, it's 22 times that of whites. I'd like for the president, the civil rights establishment, white liberals and the news media, who spent massive resources protesting the George Zimmerman trial's verdict, to tell the nation whether they believe that the major murder problem blacks face is murder by whites. There are no such protests against the thousands of black murders.
There's an organization called NeighborhoodScout. Using 2011 population data from the U.S. Census Bureau, 2011 crime statistics from the FBI and information from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies in the country, it came up with a report titled "Top 25 Most Dangerous Neighborhoods in America." (http://tinyurl.com/cdqrev4) They include neighborhoods in Detroit, Chicago, Houston, St. Louis and other major cities. What's common to all 25 neighborhoods is that their makeup is described as "Black" or "Mostly Black." The high crime rates have several outcomes that are not in the best interests of the overwhelmingly law-abiding people in these neighborhoods. There can't be much economic development. Property has a lower value, but worst of all, people can't live with the kind of personal security that most Americans enjoy.
Disgustingly, black politicians, civil rights leaders, liberals and the president are talking nonsense about "having a conversation about race." That's beyond useless. Tell me how a conversation with white people is going to stop black predators from preying on blacks. How is such a conversation going to eliminate the 75 percent illegitimacy rate? What will such a conversation do about the breakdown of the black family (though "breakdown" is not the correct word, as the family doesn't form in the first place)? Only black people can solve our problems.
Few surprises here.
#3 is no surprise. LOL!
L.A. is not on the list!
I am shocked that Richmond or Oakland California didn’t make the top 25....those places are dumps full of crime
you have to be somewhat north of 38th street....then the neighborhood os great (Governors house is somewhere in the area) but south of that the area is a real zoo. The people in those areas just won't wake up....they could solve their own problems and just won't do it.....pathetic
Nowhere in DC? Nothing about Baltimore?
Hard to believe.
Wow. Oakland didn’t make the top 25?
No, MLK Drive in Shreveport not making the list is wrong.
Racist ! ;-)
That is a great story. Unfortunately that situation happens all too often. I had my S&W Model 64 .38 special with me that day. Next time I head toward Tulsa I am taking my S&W 4006 with two extra magazines. North Tulsa is a nasty area. Believe it or not I feel safer around the Monguls and the Rogues than I do the average north Tulsan.
“Is it only 60%?”

While I was born and lived there, I moved 50 miles east, into the country, in 1972.
I left America for good in 2004.
Memphis, during my younger years, was a fine city..Nations cleanest, and most quiet in the country, also with the nations best fire department. At that time it was 40% black, but pretty much segregated.
Once the blacks took over, it all went down the drain.
“Racist ! ;-)”

I won’t deny that :P
Ditto. Didn’t see Oakland, CA listed.
“Dear Gawd,
West and North Philly dont even make the list.”
They still have containment. Sooner or later there will be a leak, and all the universities and hospitals will have to move out of the city.
Not a single L.A, NYC, or Philly neighborhood on the list.
Interesting..
Greenville is Jesse Jackson’s home town. It’s where he used to hang his hoodie.
A few comments:
1) I’m glad there’s only one in the top 25 in ATL. Though I’m sure there are others in the top 100.
2) Note that Lakewood Amphitheater is in the boundaries. Never did like going there, haven’t been in years.
3) it’s only a hop, skip and a jump to Turner Field.
4) it’s only a hop, skip and a jump to Grant Park and East Atlanta, two areas full of gentrifying gen X and gen Y hipsters. No, thanks.
And #58. LOL.
That's interesting, I've been in Washington State almost 60 years and had never heard of "White Center" area.
But on Wiki'ing it, yes, I see it now, north of Burien. But wouldn't parts of the Rainier valley be worse (i.e. MLK Jr. Way)?
Right - the Ranier area is pretty much Chi-Congo. It’s where the most of the crime in Seattle takes place. There’s also a couple of other places too like Beacon Hill.
