Art Bell, radio's master of the paranormal and outward edges of science, will return to the microphone on Sept. 16 with a new nighttime show on Sirius XM Radio.
Bell was one of radio's top syndicated voices in the 1990s before walking away from his nightly show in 2002 due to family issues. He worked occasionally after that but hasn't been on the air since Halloween 2010.
"I missed it terribly," said Bell, 68, whose weeknight show will air live from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET. Sirius is building a studio at Bell's rural Nevada home where he will work.

My mom loved Art Bell. Hated George Noory.
Well I’ll be.
OK Mr. Bell, I think you’ll probably read this.
I would like to say three simple things.
1) I’ve been a coast to coast listener since you were hosting.
2) I think Mr. Noory is good, but so are you, in fact I think the two of you are very evenly matched. I would (very much) welcome a bit of a competition between the two of you.
3) Expand on your marketing. I won’t spend money to listen to you. But I will, if you give me some way free to listen. Just saying...
Welcome back Sir.
Hope this goes as well as it should.
:D
Yes, he has come to his senses. No “maybe” about it.
I remember I was a night owl for a while, I found Art Bell entertaining often. I couldn’t stomach Noory at all.
Bell always impressed me as a sexual pervert.
I like them both.
They’re the perfect competition.
I am looking forward to a knock-down drag out fight now.
Hope Art Bell ventures out beyond the closed cable, and takes on Noory head to head.
:D
I learned how to detect lies in speech patterns listening to his show. It is very entertaining though.
Thanks, I may just try that out. I'd have to re-jigger some things to justify the monthly $18 to keep it, though.
Much appreciated.
Art Bell is a master communicator. George Noory is a passable interviewer.
One paints masterpieces, and the other paints houses.
somebody on the people who love ab fb page said he got a flyer for only 5 bucks a month, maybe you could talk to them.
and here they promise 6 months for 25.00

providing this is your decision, but hope this helps.
I used to harass her about listening to “kook” radio at nights. Then I set up and listened with her a few times. Art Bell made it interesting and it wasn’t always kooks. I tried listening to Noory but it wasn’t the same. I’m sure Mom will be listening from upstairs when the new show starts.
I disagree...Art Bell had interesting guests and topics. I like him way more than George. Looking forward to hearing his show.
Cool! Like X-Files re-runs, Live!
I like the show. It’s fun.
It is NOT MY FAULT
I believe that was George Noory. If you recall, Art tried to retire once, but couldn't, because he hadn't properly grooved in a competent replacement.
From what I remember, he'd had George fill in for him several times already, so George took over full time during Art's first abortive attempt to leave. I think I'm recalling that episode correctly, but it was about ten years ago, so my memory of it may be off a bit.
I distinctly remember when George officially took over after Art's final departure. The man was so fake and wooden, I could hardly stand to listen to him. He got better (and more relaxed) over the years, but he's never matched Art's level of skill and ability behind the mic.
Thanks for the tip!
I don’t think he’s actually a truther, but he certainly gives them a lot of latitude.
But God forbid somebody should bring up an Obama-related conspiracy theory.
Incidentally , Art said he was voting for Obama in 2008. I don’t know about 2012. He must have kept his American citizenship. He went down in my estimation some when I heard this.
Ian is gone now, but I like him much better than Wells. Are you aware that Wells was peddling Sandy Hook conspiracy theories?
Mike Siegel replaced Bell in April of 2000. He lasted until February 2001. Siegel left when Bell returned to the show.
