I remember when you had to dial in to the U.S. Naval Observatory’s modem line to synch your computer with the atomic clock. Now the entire world is linked to a time-synch signal, either on-line or via radio broadcast.

The primary product of a phone company and broadcast stations, AM/FM/TV etc., is TIME. Therefore they must measure that ‘product’ very carefully.

They have clocks that are synchronized with the NIST standards down to the milli- and maybe even micro-second.

The cell towers are all linked to these standards and therefore the exact ‘time’ and ‘length’ of your phone call is recorded. The phone manufacturers simply lock on to the time signal and display it on your phone as a convenience to you.

That is why phone logs are so accurate they are used in court proceedings to determine an accused person’s whereabouts at any given moment..........
